Mitch McConnell chased from KY restaurant by protesters

what you & others fail to realize is what I already noted; Trump ran a very unorthodoxed campaign that included an over the top amount of cursing, attacks on US military veterans, attacks on a physically challenged member of the press (yes, Trump hates the press in America/they are the enemy), over the top attacks on GOP candidates, over the top attacks on HRC, appeals to Russia & Putin for assistance, extremely corrosive verbal style in campaign rallies, etc.

When any candidate utilizes tactics, and those tactics are deemed 'successful' then others will naturally gravitate toward those same type of tactics.

Again, this is what you, & those that support Trump FAIL to realize, although it is extremely obvious, and what you & those that support Trump FAIL to admit.

It has nothing to do with self control; it is the tool that works as seen thru' the eyes of the general public.

I don't understand why you & others don't get that; it's called human nature. People go with what is perceived to have worked for others.

Why are you & all of Trumps supporters not getting this, one of the oldest concepts of human nature?

geesh ............
So, you're no better than Trump.....Got it.

There are really this many people appalled that politicians get yelled at in public? It's just about the only recourse many of these people have when an actual election isn't going on. I like seeing politicians being held accountable. The American people haven't been doing it for decades and look what that did for us. It gave politicians too much room to just buddy up to big business and screw everyone else.

I have to agree.

I don't. Fascists don't need to be made comfortable. They are 100% insulated from the consequences of their actions. They're rich and powerful and their brainwashed voter base loves them no matter how much they screw up the country. Inconveniencing their personal lives is the only way to actually affect them.

Don't like the inconvenience of having to eat at home when you're worth a few hundred million dollars you made because of your political connections? Try not being a fascist elected to public office.

I just don't understand what the big whoop ti doo is about.
American citizens are using there 1st amendment rights to tell politicians what they think. The same politicians that refuse to hold town halls or if national politicians the same ones that won't hold national events.
What in the world does civility have to do with it? Are we not allowed to voice our opinions?
You know when the tea party was spitting on politicians, shouting them down and the utter most disrespectful politicians screamed in a gathering that the president was a liar. I don't remember the right talking about civility. I remember them being voted into office. Now those same people want quiet dissension?
And please don't put words in my mouth I'm not talking about the shootings (on both sides), nor vandalism or any other act of violence.

I think it's fine to confront politicians (like what the woman who confronted Scott Pruitt in a cordial manner did), but harassing them is just going too far IMO.

Mitch McConnell has zero accountability to the American people for his Machiavellian ways, so **** him. I have zero sympathy whatsoever. I don't wish physical harm upon him, but if he gets an earful everywhere he goes, tough titty. That's what he gets for being a complete and utter scumbag.

Yes he does he faces election every 4 years!! So in your sick world you disagree with someone and it's OK to harass them? This is what the opposition has turned into.... An attitude like this won't turn out well.

I don't think it's okay to patronize someone by calling her "dear."

Maybe you're right, but no offense was intended. I am proud of my non-partisan position. I should have used "lady" instead.

So, you're no better than Trump.....Got it.

so, you accept the fact that Trump is a 'low bar' anomaly that has infected the entire American political scene

Thanks for finally realizing the obvious ........... whew ........ took looooooooooooong enuff ..........

I remember tea party people going to town hall meetings and yelling at their reps. I dont recall them harassing anyone and everyone related to Obama or Congress, everywhere they went. Heck, the tea party was a single issue protest, against high taxes to fund bailouts. From what I remember they would stand on corners doing 1700s cosplay.

Tell that to Gabby Giffords.

Only the dishonest hacks are appalled by this to post intentionally stupid stuff. They would praise anybody protesting a democrat, they are giant hypocrites. These people have spent their lives harassing anybody different from them

To me it really depends. The guy who shouted out, "We know where you live!" definitely crossed the line. McConnell is a guy who consistently pushes extremely unpopular policies and was essential in defining the Supreme Court as conservative for years to come. The decisions he makes can literally hurt people. I don't like actual threats or physical assault, but I don't mind if it becomes hard for him to eat in a restaurant in peace.

2014 Kentucky U.S. Senate election 806,787 56.19 McConnell's opponent had 40.72 %. Not even close.

Mitch McConnell, election 2008, Popular vote 953,816 53.0%. His opponent received 47.0%

Election 2002, Popular vote 731,679 64.7%. His opponent received 35.3%. Wipeout

I don't get it and not just with McConnell but both sides. A quick search shows me in KY Mitch McConnell has consistently had bad approval ratings yet landslide victories and I bet I can find the same results for all long term Congress members.

That's what I can't stand about partisan politics. People who will stubbornly vote for the person they don't even approve of just so the other person doesn't even get a chance to try and do better.

maybe the guy is gonna send his giant German Shep over to McConnell's place so the dog can take a big **** on Turtle Head's front lawn

The restaurant thing just adds an extra level of stupidity for me. We are talking about a guy who actively tries to undermine the social safety nets in this country, which will result in thousands of people dying, and people are mad because he can't have a steak?

I have been saying since I was 15 years old; "Americans are stupid" .............

I don't speak for anybody but myself, but I'm disgusted by the harassing of folks in restaurants and theaters. It's not okay to "gather a crowd," as Maxine Waters has suggested, when a public official is pumping gas, and which party is in power doesn't matter. Just remember that while you may think it's okay now because it's Republicans or members of Trump's administration, you may change your mind when your party is in power...and by then, this pattern of uncivil behavior will have precedent.

It's not good for the any of us or the nation.

So for a whole year now you've been saying that?

haha ............... try 42 years ............... I wasn't buying European autos at age 16 .............. I wish I would have been tho' ..........

Why don't these people "gather a crowd" and peacefully protest specific policies and encourage people to go out and vote smart?

Harassing people is not going to change anything but make matters worse. When people go low, we go high, right? ;)

ha ha ha, yes.

See, where you're wrong is entirely. The constitution requires that the Senate provide a President's choice, with their advise and consent.
They chose to with hold that.

Thus you are in complete, and total error.
