was clearly an lame attempt to relate a news story about a criminal attack to Trump.

The doubling down referred to you too finding a need to inject references to Trump into this breaking news crime story.

The bolded above came from the OP, the "I see the potential for a Trump inspired hate crime" was added by you. Of course, you see 'a potential' for linking any bad news story to Trump in nearly every thread - thus the 'doubling down' reference.

I guess you've missed all the "demographics is destiny" hoo-hooing and predictions of how the Republican Party is doomed because the country is becoming "less white." Lots of Democrat crowing over that.

If that's not assuming how someone votes based on race, nothing is.
