Senators introduce bill to set 'stringent' oversight of North Korea talks

Wouldnt the president have to sign any such bill before it became law?

Damn I know I can be quite dumb at times, thing is I am not dumb all the time

Yeah, I don't see them getting the vote out if they continue putting all of their focus on emoluments and Russia nonsense. You'd think they'd be hitting issues that most people actually care about.

I democrat friend of mine (Not the whacky kind like here on DP) and I had this very conversation two nights ago while playing our favorite game, Stellaris. He was very concerned with the way the progressive left has corrupted his party, and equally more confused why they haven't come out with a platform that they are pushing at every chance in front of a camera?? At every chance in front of cameras it's Trump sucks this, Trump sucks that.. No substance, no ideas, no solutions, no promises.. He's seriously thinking about becoming an independent, like I did years ago. He told me that this version of the democratic party is losing old dems, JFK dems, Reagan Dems, and even Bill Clinton Dems.. It blows his mind how people like Auntie Maxie and Pelosi are the face of the democratic party, and finished with the comment that JFK, would be turning in his grave at the state of the dems today.

I tend to think that this is the growing worry among aging voting democrats (not the angry non voting democrats, and they're a lot of them), and although they don't align with Trump on everything, they are tending to side with him on a whole host of things, not within the realm of possibility among current dem leaders! What Trump did in this election was fundamentally change the way some voters, such as myself, are approaching elections. I want men or women that consistently get results, do what they say.. The days of politicians, giving lip service and ignoring their electorate after they're voted in, on BOTH sides, are gone. Winning side or losing side, voters are going to demand accountability from here on out.

I'm not entirely sure, but it almost seemed like you were saying this friend considers Pelosi a progressive.
In which case I must request you inform him he is wildly incorrect - she is far to the right of progressive ideals.

On another note, I also enjoy Stellaris, although I haven't played it lately.

Pelosi a progressive -- what a laugh!

She mentioned that she was a progressive today at a news conference over the Crowley's loss.

Given Trump's track record (or even disregarding that) it is entirely reasonable to have oversight on this highly important deal.

Which is a load of BS because had it not been for Trump we would still be paying extortion money to NK without any clue as to how far he would actually take his threats.

Well, you and I will have to disagree about Pelosi being far right of progressives.. I kind of chuckled actually. ;)

If you ever want to join our game, drop me a PM, we have a good one going now.. :)

It's not taking anything from Trump to say "we just want to be sure, this is really important".

Now if they use it to mess things up that's a different story.

She is at the very least, not a progressive. Many of the issues progressives want movement on she does not appear to support.

As for the Stellaris, my available gaming time is focused on other areas for the foreseeable future, but we'll see.

Have you seen anything democrats were supportive of or helpful with that Trump suggested or did?!?

Well I've seen some dems say they might support a thing he said if it turns out more or less to be what they hope it is, but so far it never has, and thus they can't support it.

It's not reasonable to say they aren't supportive if he hasn't offered them anything supportable.
But they keep saying they might in the right circumstances anyway.

Looks like Menendez and Gardner, for now.

If that is so then these turkeys dont know what they are doing.....You dont go after Trump after the R Party gets hijacked by The Rebellion unless you come loaded for bear.

How is this an attack on 45?

It brings into question his unquestionable perfection.

Because the legislature is attempting to legislate? Don't they claim that the left has a monopoly on the victim mentality? Poor, misunderstood 45.

Basically, it works like this.

If the politicians (especially the right) accuse their opponents of something, they've already done that or something worse themselves.
