Trump told us that he could not sign an executive order. Why does he constantly lie?
With his recent (and very proper) decision to halt military exercises in South Korea, I believe it has less to do about "lying" and far more to do with being ignorant about what to do about anything (poor leadership), while constantly erring on the shallow themes that created his fan base for personal support. He has also proven to be extremely stubborn and if challenged he will dig in and make it worse in order to prove that he is the boss.
For months, after he originally declared that he simply can't sign an EO, he blamed the Democratic Party for simply not doing what the GOP wants while tossing "the wall" out there. He constantly declared stupid things like "Democrats don't care about crime" or that "Democrats like infestation" and whatever other senseless political jab as he wrongly compared what occurs in Europe to America's current events. His only interest was to continue playing up the political game of railing on the Left. In the meantime, his fans encouraged it by cheering over his "strength" to defy and within their very tired theme of choosing paths that simply seek to shove matters in a "liberal's" face. And try as they might, even Rob Portman, the Republican Senator from Ohio, has stated...
MSgt on behalf of Republican Senator Rob Portman said:
“I have said for the last several weeks" that "I oppose the Trump administration’s policy of separating children from their parents. This is counter to our values."
Apparently, even Republican Senators know that Democrats have not been the problem. This has been a Trump escalation, on an already poor policy, simply because Trump wished to please his flock and play insignificant and damaging politics. It's why his "border wall" crap went from Mexico paying for it, to the U.S. government paying for it, to the "rich" U.S. military paying for it. Despite seeing the writing on the wall (pun), his inability to leave the flock's ignorant rhetoric behind is a sign that he needs to feel the flock's devotion at every juncture.
Then, all of a sudden, after commercial businesses, the Catholic Pope, and even Trump's wife starts criticizing, the man signs an EO. Couldn't be the proper leader on his own I guess. He needed that global pressure to push him past the flock's nonsense. Whether or not the EO will matter is not the point. The point of his sudden EO is that it seems to me that if Trump shoves his flock to the furthest reaches of his mind, he may actually have something more to offer the nation. The two recent examples:
1) Trump's flock was all about declaring that Kim should swallow whole our military exercises before the summit, simply because Trump didn't stop them. But after the summit in which Trump
wisely suspended them? His flock all of a sudden dismissed the whole thing as not a big deal. They were more concerned about ensuring that the word "concession" didn't make them the obvious hypocrites they are. Once again, the issue was about defying "liberals" and Obama...not their inability to think for themselves or what they supposedly believe in.
2) Trump's flock was all about Trump's Tweet against signing an ELO and ate up the idea that its all the Democrats fault. They loved that Trump defined the whole thing as either opening the flood gates ("liberal" weakness) or separating the kids ("conservative" strength). But now? More of the same dismissive attitude because once again their demagogue has left them without a paddle as he led them down the path of mindless defiance and then jumped off.
He is quite the proven liar, but in so many cases he seems more incapable of choosing between his flock's false devotion and the right thing.
