Trump signs executive order to stop family separations at border

He had to resort to an executive order, something he heavily criticized Obama for. I'll bet he's pissed at himself.

Nope, no piss, especially when outside of Russia, and definitely no shame.

There are no plans to return the children already kidnapped, even if they know where they are.

I have a hard time believing most leftists are really that outraged. I mean, how could you come unglued at seeing kids separated from their parents in a fenced in area for a short period of time because their parents broke the law (which btw, when do kids ever go to jail with their parents in the U.S.?) and look past the utter despair that happens in your inner cities every day. It's really more of a hatred and distrust for Trump than compassion for the children. Does anyone really think that after what these kids have probably been through in their lives up to this point that they're going to have lifelong PTSD due to a short term separation? It's this disingenuous outrage at how evil Trump and his supporters supposedly are that is going to help Trump get re-elected again.

1. An EO can fix anything, didn't you know that by now?
2. It's a temporary solution.
3. As long as it takes.
4. They are not concentration camps  and what 'growing concern'? Now that their parents are with them, that should take care of that, no?

No, they're not Third Reich concentration camps, but you might not want to know what's happening at a lot of them because it might upset your enforced belief that everything's just rosy.

Sorry but workers at these detention centers are under orders to never touch the children in a comforting manner, never interact with them except to bark orders, never engage them in constructive play activities or anything else that groups of children would normally do in a healthy environment.
And that sort of practice leads to damaged kids.

And drugging them doesn't help either.

So people who immigrate into this country are bad people and bring "there" here. What is "there" exactly?

If they refuse to assimilate, they'll turn The United States into a third world **** hole just like the one they came from. Face it, illegals aren't the cream of the crop. They're uneducated, unskilled, can't speak English. They're more interested in sucking the government tit than they are in becoming pillars of society. They come here, get free health care, welfare, free schools for their kids. They don't comtribute to society.

"There" is Guatamala, Venezuala, El Salvador, Mexico, etc. You said the other day that you're glad you don't live in a third world country. Keep letting the third world stroll into The United States and you will live in a third world country.

Oh for crying out loud. You are impossible. You can’t honestly believe that they can “clean up” their own country?!!!?? No, you cannot actually believe that. Because that’s impossible and you are just trying to come up with something. Just vile.

I absolutely believe they lack the gumption to clean up their own country. If they did, they wouldn't be coming to The United States.

They have sent parents home without their kids and no way to know where they are.

It wasn't just wrong, it was very poorly executed.

Not thought through.

As is common with trump.

Simply untrue.

They tried.

We labeled the revolutionairies as terrorists and helped suppress them.

The maquiladoras must roll!

He was removing children from people who presented at the border and asked for asylum. That is legal...taking kids is not. Even murderers have the right to communicate with their children or put them with family.

For those that continue to insist this was a law enacted by Democrats and the separation of parents and children was actually "in the books".

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/was-law-separate-families-passed-1997/

There is no federal law that stipulates that children and parents be separated at the border, no matter how families entered the United States. An increase in child detainees separated from parents stemmed directly from a change in enforcement policy repeatedly announced by Sessions in April and May 2018, under which adults (with or without children) are criminally prosecuted for attempting to enter the United States:

The sex traffickers are cheering tonight. They can get back to business as usual.

Trump signs executive order to stop family separations at border | Fox News

There is now an executive order signed by the president to stop separating children from their illegal alien parents when detained for unlawfully crossing the US border. It appears congress is also to act on this as well.

DO NOT BE FOOLED by what this Order does. Here are the facts thus far:

1. Families will not be immediately separated, but they will be held in detention together.
2. Crossing the border “illegally” will no longer be deemed a civil violation, it will be deemed a criminal violation.
3. Because it is a criminal violation the parents will be charged criminally. At that point, their children will be forcibly taken.
4. The Executive Order will provide a provision that families will be expedited through the criminal process. This means that the removal of their children will be expedited.

There is still a need for the Tent Cities. There will still be Tender Age Facilities. This serves as optics for Trump to claim he is not ripping families apart. He is. The GOP are. They are just hiding it in the fine print.

Understand this is a result of the pressure we and others have exerted. WE made this change. But this is not the solution. He anticipates this will temper our moral outrage. Do not let it. This is not close to enough. This is not a victory for those families crossing the border.

What's the solution? Open borders?

I absolutely believe they lack the gumption to clean up their own country. If they did, they wouldn't be coming to The United States.

Many people in Central America have had the gumption to clean up their own countries, the problem is that clean up interfered with US economic interests via the companies doing business there so social revolutions were quickly suppressed and democratically elected leaders ousted via CIA supported coup d'etat. This has been the story for many nations in Central and South America as history shows us, so it isn't completely their fault. Fixing problems is addressing all of the components of that problem; if you only address the symptoms you never cure the disease.

What Trump doesnt realize is if he starts criminally prosecuting, he has to provide an attorney free of charge. Right now, they dont get such right for civil violations

Trump signs executive order to stop family separations at border

Wait, didn't he just say the other day when asked "couldn't you just stop separating children from their parents with and executive order?"...

You can't do it through an executive order.

Guess he was wrong ...

... AGAIN!

You have such little faith in the laws and government of this land that you think this will be the end result? When in the history of this country's immigration history have we seen this happen? Did the US turn into Europe after all of the European migration after the turn of the 20th century? You think people who come from bad situations want to replicate that here? The fact you make these statements shows you have absolutely no understanding of why people are coming here and are reacting from a purely protectionist view.
