Former Trump operative Roger Stone met with Russian who wanted $2M for Clinton dirt

I'm not a man.
What's Stone going to be charged with? Seriously, tell me what I need to know... He didn't buy what they were selling. Where is the crime?
Mueller won't prosecute because there is nothing to prosecute.

Even if he did buy it. What would the crime be? If buying opposition research from foreigners is illegal, that means the Steele Dossier is also illegal.

So, this meeting (which is even worse than the Trump Tower meeting), was not disclosed in Stone's sworn testimony before Congress, which means that Stone can be cited for perjury and obstruction if that can be established.

Interesting what Trump campaign members "forget" and then remember again, after their sworn testimony is behind them.

This sure sounds like criminal conspiracy at this point, but that's my take.

Look if Trump paid $130,000 for a one night trick,I'm sure he'd pay two million for Dirt on Clinton,it's just in the nature of the beast.....,..All will be revealed no doubt in time

Is buying information from foreign nationals illegal ??

The DNC did not buy any information from any foreign nationals. They hired an American firm to do opposition research and that research was lawfully conducted. Unlike the Trump campaign no foreign nationals had actively approached the Clinton campaign with 'dirt', or information if you please, about their political opponent.

The SC was appointed in May, 2017, which Comey began in...March 2017. That's still not 2 years even though 45 says so.

It doesn't matter when the SC was appointed, Comey started the investigation.

You mean Comey lied to Congress ?? Say it isn't so !!

Nobody has been able to explain when and why the investigation began. Initially it supposedly began with Page and the FISA warrants.

Then it suddenly lurched to PapaD getting drunk with the Aussie. The confirmed story of the spy made that claim no longer tenable. Then we were back to Page when he joined the campaign in the spring.

Foreign nationals didn’t need to approach the Clinton campaign. The campaign approached them.

But thank you for agreeing that the Russians went to Trump & Co. rather than the other way around. Now, if we can get the concession that the overtures were REJECTED maybe we can wrap up this whole thing and get on with the business of the country.

In March 2017. It might seem like 2 years to you but that's not a fact. And facts matter.

The DNC/Clinton Campaign "indirectly" financed the Steele dossier, Christopher Steele is a foreign national. Read the statute.

That's not when Comey started the investigation. And facts do matter.

What stuns me is that Roger Stone, who would tell you to your face that he is a criminal and a liar if it benefits him or his scummy billionaire politicians, is telling this story and everybody is like "ok I guess that's what happened." He's a liar and a felon. You're all talking about whether or not the lying felon's version of events was legal, or ethical, or whatever else you want to call it.

The bottom line is that whatever Roger Stone says went down probably went down very differently because he's not only a liar and a criminal, he's a proud lying criminal.

Not even remotely comparable. The DNC contracted a US company to obtain opposition research. That company hired one of the world's foremost experts on the politics os Russia. He obtained information from his previous contacts, who were not senior officials in the Russian government.

There is NO relationship in that arrangement between senior members of the Clinton campaign and officials of the Russian government. There is no evidence that that senior members of the Russian government ever met with senior members of the Clinton campaign team to offer information. The former is SOP; the later, which is what likely happened with Trump, is a crime.

Steele got his information from Russian nationals. I seriously doubt that they gave up that information for free either.
Was Christopher Steele Paid by Russian Oligarch and Putin Ally Oleg Deripaska? ? Tablet Magazine

It also looks like Steele had several contacts with Russian agents.

The fact is clinton and the dnc bought and paid for information by Russian operatives and nationals to get dirt on trump.
The fact you can't admit it tells us everything we need to know.

Violating Federal election law isn't a crime? Perhaps it isn't if you have a "R" following your name on the ballot.

How is this a violation of election law?

All Trump and his sycophants' conspiracy theories do is reinforce the power and relevance of the very people they claim to be so steadfastly opposed to. Good to see Karma coming around yet again. Paul Manafort, now Roger Stone, I wonder who will be next.

I thought we were discussing the 2 million dollar offer from the Russians?
No, this thread is about some random dude named Henry. There's no evidence of contact with "the Russians."

This guy will flip on Trump

You know, I wouldn't hazard a guess as to what Stone will or won't do. I think that man can do right no more than can a left-handed glove.

I built alliances and put all my serious challengers on my ticket. Then I recruited the most unpopular guy in the school to run against me. You think that's mean? No, it's smart.
-- Roger Stone remarking on how he orchestrated defeat of the president of his student government in his high school

Like Trump, he's been a reprobate since before he reached the age of majority.

I'd like to say he's shrewd, but the way he operates is more aptly described as guileful. About the only positive thing I can say about him is that he has impeccable sartorial sensibilities.

He's one of the original rat f'ers, along with Manafort.
