I corrected myself already. It was a snotty thing to say that didn't capture what I really meant, which is that I don't like when people form opinions about technical subjects (like economics) fact-free. It is the defining quality of our political culture right now and infests this forum.

They invented them from the beginning. I acknowledge that you're describing a higher road, but again, it doesn't matter here. Ymmv.

Obama didn't do anything to deserve it, unless you can point out something I missed. I think he got it based of the hope of what leftists believed he could do. Trump on the other hand physically met with Kim, hostages were released beforehand, remains of our vets from the war released also, and there's serious talk of getting rid of nukes and joining international community to help pull N. Korea out of the dark ages. A total win/win, is it not?

Oh, I see. You asked if I would be shocked if 45 got a Nobel Peace Prize. No, I wouldn't, but I can't imagine caring very much at all. Obama's prize was equally unremarkable to me. I didn't even post about it on FB.

Dinesh D Souza would already be filming one of his ****ty documentaries about it with a working title like "Shame in Singapore". The Republicans would have already voted to censure him in congress, and would already have better than half the country demanding his resignation in shame.

Its because a president dropping praise, even lightly. About a foreign leader "dictator or otherwise" is nothing new.

Also, if the even remotely tried to do that. The likes of FOX and every other independent journalist group will start shilling out how there were democrats praising Castro after his death.

This is lip service, nothing more.

Yeah, show me where FDR showered Stalin with praise. Show me where JFK showered Khrushchev with praise. Show where Nixon just showered Mao with praise. Only Trump likes to shower dictators and evil men with praise while attacking our allies that actually share our values.

Trump got the release of remains from Korean war casualties, agreed to cease military exercises and possibly a deal for denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. That's profound.

I can't imagine Shinzo would have complained about America's treatment of refugees/illegal migrants, it's just not something Japan have ever or are ever likely to do. Therefore can only imagine he was shooting off at the mouth without any rhyme of reason... a bit like he tweets, incoherently... rather amusing.

Probably he knows everyone there hates him, so went on the attack without being provoked... who knows, he has too many big mac moments.
 
How is anyone upset about this? Japan has essentially a closed society and doesnt have a leg to stand on when discussing immigration or refugees. If Abe was even engaging in the conversation, he was saying too much. In one year Japan took in all of 28 people.

So maybe a little perspective is in order. I personally think its a ****ing GREAT idea. We should be sending our illegal immigrants to Canada...they love them. And to Japan...they will gladly embrace them. Sweden....Holland...those should be illegal immigrant hotspots. Hell...we can send them first class.

25 million Mexicans? Has he discussed his plan with Mexico? There are 50 million in the US, but most of those are US citizens.
