This is just magnificent. Our noble President Trump truly deserves this gracious nomination due to his strong and gallant stance of bringing peace to the Korean peninsula, and the world.

Norwegian MPs back growing calls for Trump Nobel Prize after North Korea summit | Fox News

Two Norwegian MPs are calling for President Trump to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize after his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un -- the latest push for Trump to be given the prestigious prize

~~

The nomination letter compares Trump’s actions to those of President Theodore Roosevelt, who they note was given the prize in 1906 for his efforts with Russia and Japan at the end of the Russian-Japanese War.

“Both President Roosevelt and President Trump show that government leaders who are not afraid to show that they are willing to use power can be tools for peace,” the letter says.

Yea 2 MPS from the party Anders Brevik supported ... great endorsement there. What's next.. AfD in Germany endorsing him? How about the KKK or even Hitler himself?

Oh and politicians in Norway have no influence on the Nobel committee...

Hilarious!

You better know right now that Donald Trump doesn't do anything that doesn't benefit him personally and financially.

What Donald Trump is doing is bypassing the interests of the US for his own best personal and financial best interests.

Donald Trump's credit rating in the US is so bad because of his bankruptcies and law suits, not an American bank in the country will loan him any money.

So Donald is completely at the mercy of Chinese and Russian banks to provide him loans so that he can float his Billionaire status and all of his properties around the world.

Without securing loans, he is about as broke as you or me, so he needs the float money.

So Donnie is out to conspire with the Russians to end the sanctions that are getting in the way of him securing loans without having to laundry the money.

And he is conspiring with the Chinese to ease the sanctions on N. Korea and get us out of their way by pulling our troops out of S. Korea.

Donnie is just trying to feather his own ass!

That is not any reason what-so-ever to give Donald Trump a prize!

Donald Trump is using sanctions and tariffs as personal bargaining chips in negotiating with foreign leaders- and for his personal gain.

Yes, you feather his ass with personal loans so that he can continue to float his billionaire status and his properties around the world- and he'll feather their ass by lifting sanctions and tariffs.

You would have to be a complete idiot to not realize this.

This is why you don't put a fox in charge of the hen house!

This is why you don't vote for a lying crook to be your president.

Live and learn people! LOL!

.

Whether you like it or don't like it, you better come to grips with it.

If this summit results in a denuclearization treaty and a gradual normalization of North Korea into the world community, Trump is getting the Nobel Prize and deservedly so. Do you really hate the man so bad you'd rather have him fail and have the very real threat of North Korean nukes hanging over our heads ad infinitum?

Suck it up, buttercups.

If you want to engage in an actual discussion, I'm going to have to ask that you stop posting such stupid non-sense.

Thanks in advance.:)

If Trump gets the Nobel prize it would only reinforce my feelings on what a joke the prize has become

At least they are asking for the award for something done, rather than what they hope he might maybe accomplish...

Trump would fall in the same category. There's no treaty and no denuclearization yet so the only thing there is a vague agreement with not details on how or when any of it will be achieved. If Trump gets a good treaty, then sure I wouldn't be opposed, but otherwise not so much. I thought Obama's prize was pretty silly as well especially after his policies in the Middle East.

Give me a break, nothing happened

And again, the Iran deal, which actually went into place and Iran was actually complying with was a huge failure. But this photo op is the best thing ever. Partisan hacks have absolutely no credibility.

What exactly has he done?

At least he started the process, I was making a shot at Obama getting his purely on "what we hoped he would accomplish". Trump at least did something no one else had done trying to make a difference.

the one thing one has ever done, held a face to face sit down to try and solve the problem. No President had done that, and maybe it leads nowhere, we'll see, but the status quo wasn't working to well either. The point was, he DID something, OBama hadn't done **** and got it (go read the interview with Nobel rep who admitted that flat out)

Obama won it for doing nothing so I would think Trumps’ efforts are a little more of a something.

So Trump was able to talk to NK, something NK has wanted for decades and that is an amazing accomplishment?

Trump gets kudo's for meeting with NK. But it was not something he forced NK into doing, what he did was something most past presidents did not want to do as they felt it gave NK legitimacy

What? Roosevelt was given the peace prize AFTER he helped negotiate actual peace treaties and negotiations.

Are you actually saying that just by meeting with NK he has somehow accomplished something? Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping for the best. But I don't know how anyone can say anything has been accomplished. I can't go to my boss and say "you owe me for all of my accomplishments! I met with a prospective client yesterday! We really didn't agree to anything, but we did shake hands!"

As far as I can tell, the Trump Presidency in regards to NK has been to rattle the cage, name call, shake his hand and butter him up, get NK to sign the most vague agreement that they have ever signed, then come back to the US and declare that everyone can sleep safe and that NK is no longer a nuclear threat to the world.

Come on Renae. Do you honestly expect me to believe that if anyone else had went to this meeting and came away with nothing, shook Un's hand and called him smart and a great leader and that he loved his people and then came back to the US declaring that he has fixed everything that you wouldn't be trashing them up and down?

Sorry, but you don't get awards for insulting your most loyal allies, and playing touchy-feely with your adversaries!

You basically get removed from office for that kind of stuff!

No, Trump did not start the process. It all started with Ronald Reagan, who sent emissaries, and every president since has attempted to tackle the problem. Each and every time, whoever was the leader in NK would say that he was committed to NK denuclearization, but would never follow through on those empty promises. Bill Clinton got punked by NK so badly that he dropped sanctions on NK and began sending them foreign aid. NK still kept their program alive. G W Bush thought he was on the brink of a deal too, but pulled back at the last minute on removing some sanctions, realizing that NK was only talking and not doing. And Trump? NK punked him almost as badly as they punked Clinton, and Trump gives up the bargaining chip of military exercises, and getting words only in return, and absolutely nothing on paper. Not punked as badly as Clinton, but close. Now I know why it was a ghost writer who wrote "Art of the Deal". Trump is inept. The main difference between Clinton and Trump is that Clinton was a *****, and Trump is a boorish idiot.

Well, Trump has sacrificed a lot in the hopes of peace, and after all - NK is now "no longer a nuclear threat"

Nonsense. NK has A- & H-bombs & ICBM rockets. How does that not make them a nuclear threat?

Hopefully that is what happens. However, so far North Korea has made the same promises it has made to everyone since 1992. In exchange, for them giving us the same promises they have given us time and time again before, Trump lavished praise on Kim Jong-un, calling a man that has tortured and killed American citizens "strong", "funny", a "very talented man", with a "great personality", a man that loves his country and his people and whose people love him. Showering a man with praise that has sent Americans to labor camps just to use them as political pawns, a man that has starved his own people, a man that runs the most totalitarian regime on earth, and who has hundreds of thousands of his own people in concentration camps so large that they are visible from space.

This all goes to show you how the Democrats are the biggest bunch of spineless ******s on the planet. Had a Democrat did that, every Republican in office would be in front of every camera in the country talking about it, calling it traitorous, saying he is far worse than Neville Chamberlain, saying it would be like FDR meeting with Hitler in the late 30s and showering him with praise with full knowledge of the death camps, and calling for his resignation as being morally and intellectually unfit for office. That is exactly what the Republicans would be doing if only Trump had a D after his name, but the spineless Democrats can't even make an issue of it.

I mean for **** sakes, the Republicans were practically calling Obama a traitor because he politely bowed to the Japanese Emperor.

I would stress little in that sentence. Any good Trump may accomplish from this deal will get offset by his childish name calling and bullying he consistently resorts to. While Obama may not of done anything deserving of the prize he also hadn't done much to disqualify him either. Trump has a lot of negatives that need offeseting IMO before he should be considered

So does this mean you don't want him to attempt to make a deal? I mean, what exactly is he supposed to say under the circumstances? Do you think something along the lines of... "hey you little twerp, give up your nukes and behave or we're going to light your ****hole country on fire!"

Think that'd work?

The only thing that matters is what happens inside the conference room. The rest of it is just partisan grandstanding.
