Veteran of Senate Intel Committee charged with lying to investigators in leak investigation

If you want to discuss the topic in a narrow, conservative approved dimly lit echo chamber, sure have fun.
Another nonsensical reply. Figures.

My initial thought is that if a 'Veteran of Senate Intel Committee', one that's in charge of security, no less, isn't detected by said Senate Intel Committee (shouldn't these guys know what they are doing on intel matters such as this?), is it really any wonder that most reasonable people consider the federal government as incompetent?

Lying to the FBI is just the start. If this guy doesn't flip on a larger fish, there are going to be more serious charges filed by the FBI / federal attorney who is conducting this case.

This is a very good question...the purpose.

The media appears to be trying to paint this guy as non-partisan, but I've found at least one site that has looked into this issue. They provide examples of some of the news stories that resulted from his leaks.

You can see them here: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...ump-info-to-his-ny-times-lover-is-bipartisan/

Seems that this guy is yet another 'spur' of the DNC / Hillary / GPS / Steele dossier web of intrigue and corruption.

To what lengths does this web of intrigue and corruption extend? Might be worthy of a special counsel to be appointed to investigate this, don't cha think? I mean of the bogus Steele dossier is sufficient for FISA warrants and a special counsel, then certainly this would be sufficient as well, wouldn't it?

Of course, let's not mention Imran Awan and Debbie Wasserman Schultz and that rather obvious and stupid security breech and subsequent miss-handling.
(Oh God! Are all these people on the Hill that utterly stupid and incompetent?
These are the people that are running the ****ing federal government!!
Shouldn't the electorate demand greater competence from these people?)

And what about that inside job of the DNC emails being leaked out? The ones that WikiLeaks published? Those same servers the DNC denied access to the FBI to investigate the case? (A weird and suspicion decision, if you ask me).

Your whole post is interesting, but I want to comment on this part.

I agree. It pretty much goes without saying that the Senate Intel Committee knew what this guy was doing. After all, he was leaking THEIR stuff to the media. That means they LET him do it.

Now...this committee is considered by some to be the most corrupt, GOP/Dem Elite infested committee on Capitol Hill...with the likes of the previous member, Feinstein, and the guy who replaced her, Warner. What's telling is that they knew the DOJ/FBI had them by the short hairs when they voted to give up the documents that were asked for. If they had thought there was the slightest advantage to be had, they would have done the usual delaying/dodging tactics. They HAD to give the guy up.

A lot of people have bad things to say about Sessions, but at least in regard to this leaking issue he's doing a GREAT job.

James Wolfe wouldn't be the topic if he didn't lie to the FBI.

So, lying to the FBI is the topic as well.

If he didnt lie to the FBI, then he would have told the truth about leaking classified information.
Which is a crime.
Flynn and PapaD were not charged with that which they were investigated for.
