Violence broke out in downtown Portland, Oregon, on Sunday as Antifa activists stormed a Patriot Prayer rally — about a year after similar dueling rallies triggered bloody fights and arrests.

Some protesters on Sunday hurled bottles and fireworks at police officers while others were caught with knives and other weapons, Portland Police tweeted. Officials encouraged people to get out of the immediate area "for their safety."

Many of the Antifa activists wore black and covered their faces. Some protesters said they were demonstrating against police brutality; one sign bluntly read "F--- the police."

Antifa are such idiots. They bray in their loud jackass tone about 'huntin' teh Nazis', but in actuality cant find any Nazis, so Antifa descends en masse to hurl abuse and violence against people who organized a rally designed to offer prayer for the country.

You know you must be a deplorable leftist when even the SPLC condemns you.

Size and type of knife is also subject to local laws.

Perhaps the current gun control law prevented this person from obtaining a gun? Or being an Antifa member, didn't want his/her name in any database? Don't know the law in Portland offhand. Knives are more a close quarters weapon anyway.

They're getting worse -- and that's likely to continue until something truly tragic happens.

But, yeah, they are idiots. They don't understand that the Patriot Prayer people have a right to their march, and a right to their opinions. Speech and thoughts are free, and protected in the United States, only actions are punishable.

But the Second Amendment guarantees the right to bear arms. It doesn't specify firearms or guns.

Something truly tragic has already happened in Charlottesville, and the entire left defended Antifa's actions.
Is far as I can tell, all Antifa and most BLM activists are nothing more that dictatorial jack-asses looking for an excuse to hurt or kill someone.
Both movements need to grace the same socially outcast group as the very 'Nazis" they seem to see everywhere.

How is a nazi murdering a bystander at Charlottesville antifa's fault?

I didn't say it was Antifa's 'fault'. Nor did I say it was the white people's 'fault'.
I'm actually saying the same bloody thing your president said at the time. Both sides acted like jack-asses and the result was that some crazed white guy barrel-assed his car into some white woman...and some others...but killed the white woman.

Which places them both in the same category of criminally insane f&#k-ups.
