SHAWNEE, Kan. (AP) — A Kansas City suburb has apologized after a Republican gubernatorial candidate in Kansas appeared in a parade atop a Jeep with what appeared to be a large gun mounted on the back .

The Kansas City Star reported that some onlookers appeared stunned by the sight of Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach on the red, white and blue-decorated vehicle at the Old Shawnee Days parade Saturday morning.
==============================
Kobach, infamous for his Interstate Crosscheck vote suppression scheme, was apparently trying to make a statement about guns but it doesn't sound like he secured any more votes for the upcoming Kansas governor race.

Snowflakes are melting all over Kansas..

Nobody in Kansas was "shocked".
The only onlookers that were "stunned" were
from the anti-gun media.

Kobach will be the next governor of Kansas

Kansas does not give a hoot what you think!
What is this thread about?

OP article doenst say much.

Kinda bull**** tho that there are claims (not sure I buy it) that seeing a candidate in a parade with a gun mounted on a parade vehicle made people 'feel unsafe.'

Why would it? There are guns carried in parades all the time.

I think it's time to revisit the whole props at campaign rallies and parades thing.

Why? If this politician wanted to make a statement with a gun mounted on a parade vehicle, or have one up behind him on a stage...do people really think it's going to be real? Or even if so, armed? An actual danger?

Or is it just about perceived 'bad taste?'

I was at that event. Nobody was stunned. Just a block from there a business owner was killed a couple of years ago during a botched robbery attempt. And a few blocks away is one of the best indoor shooting ranges in the country. Guns are as common as apple pie around here. Kansas has open carry and no permit required for concealed carry. Another piece of fake news.

It about idiots/liars in the crowd feeling unsafe.

They have to be coddled now you understand.

I bet you that someone who wants to cause him problems complained.

It could easily have been only one person, many Modern Morons apologize almost on rote now.

Faux outrage set off by faux trigger.

It has greater range than that Faux M2 .50 on the Jeep, and will inflict a good deal more casualties.
