The FBI has obtained secret wiretaps collected by Spanish police of conversations involving Alexander Torshin, a deputy governor of Russia’s Central Bank who has forged close ties with U.S. lawmakers and the National Rifle Association, that led to a meeting with Donald Trump Jr. during the gun lobby’s annual convention in Louisville, Ky., in May 2016, a top Spanish prosecutor said Friday.

These wiretaps were obtained via the intelligence service of Spain, which was tapping Alexander Torshin, a Russian oligarch who is very close to Vladimir Putin. These recordings are now in the hands of Robert Mueller, and Spain says that Trump Jr has a lot to worry about because of what is in these recordings. Another piece of the puzzle now slips into place.

I don't know if Swampy knew about this one, because at one point he was tough on the NRA. When he said you are all bought and paid for by the NRA, Swampy Jr must have told him that he was too, then he shut up about them and did their bidding.

When we don't yet know what the piece looks like, how can we slip it into place?

Those that know what is in the surveillance say Jr. should be worried. It just adds more wood to the fire.

Indeed. The only way we're going to know how all of this is put together is when Mueller presents the final report. For the sake of perspective, the Starr report was some four hundred pages. Anybody who thinks the Mueller report is going to be anything short of twenty thousand pages is in for a rude awakening. It's going to make for a book that people will have to read thirty times over before they're able to comprehend the full picture. If it were made into a movie, the director would have to trim 80% of it so it doesn't end up baffling and frustrating the audience. It would be like the Godfather if the Godfather was eight movies long.

My bet is this is just one more silly story about Trump's family.
Smear and destroy is the goal.

The Muller report will be at least 20,000 pages long! And you will have to read it thirty times before before they're able to comprehend the full picture? Oh the drama.... What a prediction! :lamo

When we don't yet know what the piece looks like, how can we slip it into place?

Not to mention, there aren't any other pieces to attach it to.

So we have to know the conclusion in order to investigate?

Naw, you just need probable cause to start the investigation. You know, all those annoying enumerated rights contained within The Constitution.

This information, if it amounts to anything, is admissable in court. It'll be a travesty if it's used as evidence; again, if it amounts to anything.

The biggest question is: how did something like this leaked?

They are investigating Russian ties to the Trump campaign, among other things - the puzzle.
Yet more hard evidence of criminal/government-tied Russian's interacting with the Trump campaign, that were not disclosed - another piece of that puzzle.

It's kind of interesting that you're more concerned about a leak than you are about the content.

Does it? This comes out and your concern is "OMG, how did they find out?"

It doesn't bother you that a foreign government is spying on a member of a presidential administration and gave information to the FBI to assist in overthrowing that administration?

Wonder if this would constitute Fake News. The facts are accurate, but the conclusion is just more wild speculation.

It doesn't bother you that a hostile foreign power attempted to sway our election.

They were spying on the Russians. Which begs the question: How does Jr get caught up in it?

We don't really know that actually happened, aside from a propaganda campaign.

Considering that the same people who think the Russian government hacked the DNC are the same people that planted a mole(s) in the Trump Campaign, it increases the possibility that the "hack" was really a leak that was part of a false flag operation designed to create an excuse to spy in, wire tap and investigate the Trump campaign. It was Strzok's "insurance policy".

Now, we have a foreign government gathering information on members of a presidential campaign and giving that information to a U.S. special councel. Is Mueller in cahoots with foreign governments so he can side step The Constitution? Pretty shameful that you people would support that. But hey...anything for a win. Huh?

This saga has been going on for about two years now.

If Spain really just turned this tape over. What took them so long?

That's a good question.
