It looks like it didn't have to escalate like that. Looking at the video, it seems that the deaf guy is a bit "overprotective", probable because he has difficulty communicating and others have difficulty communicating with him.
May be both parties should sit together with an interpreter. I must admit, reading the first story, I jumped to a conclusion too soon.
