Mueller told Trump's legal team he will not indict the president, Giuliani tells Fox News | Fox News

President Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, told Fox News on Wednesday that special counsel Robert Mueller has told the president's legal team he will follow Justice Department guidance and not seek an indictment against Trump.

Giuliani, himself a former federal prosecutor and mayor of New York City, also told Fox News that Mueller's investigators have not responded to five information requests from the president's team. That has forced Trump's legal team to push off making a decision about whether the president will sit for an interview with the special counsel -- a decision they had hoped to reach by Thursday.

The precedent that federal prosecutors cannot indict a sitting president is laid out in a 1999 Justice Department memo. Giuliani told Fox News that Mueller has no choice but to follow its guidance.

"This case is essentially over," Giuliani said. "They're just in denial."

:lamo Aww that's tough luck.

A bit stupid because it infers that someone like Mueller didn't know the law before he started that s***.

Well, now the " resistance " is going to have all this free time on their hands. Maybe they should take up a hobby, a productive hobby and stop raging about a election loss that happened well over a year ago

Another Trumplican wet dream. Those who expected Trump to be indicted are just as big morons as those who continue to defend Trump. But the investigation is NOT about Trump alone now is it? There are a lot more creatures in Trump's swamp. Somebody has to get rid of them...

Yeah I believe Rudi, and that the President according to the Founders is above the Law.

Hahhaa now that’s some spin. Nice try, Rudy

I gues that means he will be. Right? Q2....

A normal indictment was never in the cards, at least not while he's president.

As I understand it, the best we'll get is that Congress will receive the results of the investigation, leak any relevant points that aren't already out there, and then it will be a matter of how much pressure the public rings to bear to compel an impeachment.

Very probably Trump won't be kicked out of office, but we can certainly drag his dirty laundry around the town square for as long as he's around.

To the extent that he has misbehaved, he'll have earned it.

Not sure, but I don't think it's Mueller's decision on whether to indict the president since that authority likely belongs to the AG and/or congress.

Just today the Senate Intelligence Committee put out a statement that it agrees with the IC...the Russians did in fact meddle in the 2016 election to help Trump win.

"There is no doubt that Russia undertook an unprecedented effort to interfere with our 2016 election," Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr, a North Carolina Republican, said in a statement. "Committee staff have spent 14 months reviewing the sources, tradecraft, and analytic work, and we see no reason to dispute the conclusions."

So the question is...did Trump collude with the Russians and if not, then why is he trying so hard to obstruct the investigation?

FWIW, there was never much talk of indicting Trump beyond that which came from talking heads on CNN/MSNBC and various political discussion forums. The objective has, pretty much from the start, been to find cause to impeach Trump. To that end, there should be little doubt that, should the Senate go Democrat this year, we will see that process begin. Whether the cause if "he spit on the sidewalk" or "he's been confirmed as a Russian spy" is immaterial. The Democrats, along with their Republican allies in the NeverTrump movement, will not stop in their quest to cleanse the White House of an uninvited guest from the unwashed class rather than the enlightened Political class.

Hahhaa now that’s some spin. Nice try, Rudy

I was wrong. Rudy didn’t spin it, Fox did with the headline.

Mueller cant indict Trump because he lacks authority to do so.

Trump fans will blindly hope that this somehow means Trump is innocent

^^ that

In addition to the question of why we would believe Giuliani .... ^^ that.

If you were accused of a "crime" you didn't commit, would you be quite and say nothing?!?
Besides, where did Trump obstruct the investigation?

Giuliani has the prescience of a wet fart. And Fox News? The queens of omission and obfuscation.

What Giuliani and WH public relations surrogate, Fox News, did not say is that presented with the facts the House may vote to impeach Trump for "high crimes and misdemeanors". Gleeful Trump fans pre-ejaculate once again - because Fox News directed them to.

Yes. I'm afraid y'all are gonna have to be satisfied with the small fry.

You can't have the big fish.

Does anyone really believe anything that Rudy says? It seems like his mind and thought processes left him a long time ago.

And he'll STILL be President.

Chaps your ass, don't it?

Geesh, man, what fantasy world are you living in?!?

You sound like another fool who believes Rudy. He has not been the brightest crayon in the box for a while now.

Giuliani also said that Trump paid Cohen $470,000, not just the $130,000 that went to Daniels. Yet his recent disclosure doesn't show that. He also said that Trump intervened in the ATT/TWC merger. Would you like to take Giuliani at face value? Because these would be pretty large and blatant illegal activities.

If someone told me that they don't have the authority to indict me, I would feel like they are implying they really want to, and they looked it up, and were really disappointed they couldn't. And now are letting me know they would, if they could. And intend to **** my **** up some other way.

That's my take on it.

1. Mueller has a grand jury. If he could indict...he would and could. He can't indict. Sorry.

2. The Senate can do whatever they want, but they can't indict, either. Sorry.

3. Nobody has any evidence...that we know of...that Trump had anything to do with Russians regarding the election. shrug...

4. Trump hasn't tried to obstruct any investigation...not at all. In fact, he's been quite cooperative. Sorry.

Giuliani seems to be having the predicted by me great effect on Trump. The way I hear it Trump had tried to get him several times before but this time finally found him ready to join the fight against this abusive effort to unseat a correctly elected President in the grounds that the people made a mistake.
