Trump discloses payment to Cohen in financial form

https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/16/politics/trump-financial-disclosure-report/index.html

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump acknowledged for the first time that he repaid his lawyer Michael Cohen more than $100,000 for expenses Cohen incurred during the 2016 presidential election, according to a financial disclosure form released Wednesday.

The document did not explicitly state what the payments were for. But Trump's lawyers have previously said that Trump reimbursed Cohen for the $130,000 hush money payment he made to porn star Stormy Daniels.

"Mr. Cohen sought reimbursement of those expenses and Mr. Trump fully reimbursed Mr. Cohen in 2017. The category of value would be $100,001-$250,000 and the interest rate would be zero."

WTF? The same payment that he denied having any knowledge of on April 4, 2018 or whatever day he was lying in the plane?

That man is a pathological and diseased liar.

In the interest of transparency?

He’s just friggin with us now!

In my admittedly shaky understanding of campaign finance rules, I think Trump just admitted to breaking campaign finance law.

We don't have his taxes, but at least now we've got something to work with.

I can't wait 'till I have some time to look it over. Unfortunately though, I suspect the disclosure will be only of his his personal disclosure and not that of the Trump Org.

I'm also wondering as to whether Don Jr., Kushner, and Ivanka had to do disclosures. I don't believe they hold official administrative titles, do they?

"Ethics office sending letter to Rod Rosenstein stating that Michael Cohen's payment on behalf of Trump was a debt and may be relevant to "any inquiry" Rosenstein may be pursuing."

Good catch.

Though I suspect Mueller also already has it covered on the back end, the referral would perhaps cement the validity of this aspect of the investigation. Not that I think it needs any more validity.

Blast to the past: Republicans told us we didn't need to see his tax returns because we could see what he was worth in his financial disclosure.

Here's the problem:

The President lying and deceiving the public may not be illegal per se, unless of course it can be tied to obstruction of justice or other crimes.

So if the American people, as expressing their desires to Congress, claim "We like him lying and deceiving us", Trump is indeed good here!

<---------- a Republican who was smart enough to want to see his tax returns

This gets worse and worse by the day. Where are all the Trump devotees? Let me guess. They're listening to Hannity on AM radio declaring this to be a "nothingburger".

Trump supporters have already moved on to "A sitting president can't be indicted, so neener neener."

And it looks like he may have broken the law.

And the crap just keep oozing out of the Trump camp and by the looks of it there is no end in sight. To think that this asshole can get away with it and that there are countless morons who still kiss his ass is truly frightening.

You and I both know that the citizens of Trump Fan Nation will not have any issue with this latest in a long series of Trump lies and manipulations. They will scream "Mueller! Obama! HILLARY!" and ignore this. I hope the decent people in society don't ignore this.

And i sure as hell hope Mueller doesn't ignore it.

Michael Avenatti and Stormy Daniels are probably popping a bottle of Dom Perignon right about now.

You know, I'm a bit at a loss to see how things ever got this far.

We saw the parties demonizing each other, and demonizing the other party's rank and file, and we accepted it. We stood by. As Americans, we never should have allowed anyone in authority or power to beat on any other fellow American citizen. But we did. So collectively, I believe we are all at fault. And I think it's going to take us citizens to find our way out. I'm not exactly sure how, but we can see the GOP Congress have no desire to put an end to this. As for me, the best I can do is vote them (GOP) out, while trying to keep the new guys on a short leash.

Isn't the current Trump position still that the affair never occurred?

What was Trump paying for?

Why is such a proud cad not willing to put this to bed by admitting what we all know already?
