ZURICH (Reuters) - Novartis’s (NOVN.S) top lawyer quit on Wednesday over a $1.2 million contract he co-signed with U.S. President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, a deal the Swiss drugmaker’s ex-CEO also said was a mistake.

The contract with Michael Cohen’s Essential Consultants, the same firm used to pay porn star Stormy Daniels, has distracted Novartis’s efforts to improve its image after a series of missteps.

This sour deal with Michael Cohen has come as a major embarrassment to Swiss drug giant Novartis, which has had its share of major missteps. 'Since 2015, Novartis has paid out hundreds of millions in settlements and fines as a result of kickback allegations in South Korea, the United States and China and faces an investigation of alleged bribery in Greece. A trial for another U.S. kickbacks case is scheduled for 2019.' It would seem that the top management of this firm was always ready for a 'deal.'

ladies and gentleman, i think we have now found evidence that the present administration is more corrupt than the Ulysses S. Grant and Warren G. Harding administrations combined

Trump, like Novartis, is always on the lookout for a 'deal,' like that half-billion $$$ bribe from China. What used to be called ethics is now pay-for-play.

Or getting indicted by a grand jury. Trump is trying to squelch the free press. The legal system could be next. He's packed the courts with young Republicans with life-long appointments.

Yes, we hired a dude with no health industry experience and gave him an extremely lucrative contract that also for some reason didn't actually require him to do anything for us. By accident. Whoopsie daisy.
