I stopped traveling to or in the US almost 20 years ago because there are no legal protections for foreigners and you do not respect your own laws when it suits you not to. I feel safer traveling in South America and China.

And yes, I bet you feel safer traveling in a totalitarian regime like China. After all, that is much more your speed.

Tercdhnical cop out. People either have rights of they don't. Americans are selective....if they don't like you, you have no rights.

Don't get me started here but it hsn't been all that long since my late wife, a Canadian-born of Chinese extraction was arrested and "detained" by America's border guards because she didn't have a passport. And since she was "Chinese" they figure she should have a passport. She had no rights when they stripped searched her.

Of course it's overshadowed. Dictators and Leftists are solely responsible for hundreds of millions of corpses between Berlin and Cambodia. Mao managed to kill off some 45 million people during just his Great Leap Forward (1958 - 1962) alone. Think about it, 45 million in just 4 years. And despite Hitler's Holocaust taking center stage, Stalin actually killed far more in just his Gulags than Hitler ever did.

Still, it seems to always come down to how they can criticize without context and exaggerate anything when it comes to the U.S. Now, it is undoubtedly tragic when counting the bodies of dead civilians left in the wake of the American military machine. But Leftists never care about abused or dead civilians until they become American "victims." Reality has no weight for the ideologues who cannot live without the conviction that only the United States is ever guilty.

But I think the two of you are tossing out different points.
