WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he will meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for a historic summit on June 12 in Singapore where the U.S. leader will try to persuade Pyongyang to give up its nuclear weapons.

Call me a cynic, but I don't see anything positive coming out of this even if it does happen. Trump is hardly the diplomat & with John (Bomb them) Bolton advising him on national security policy, we can cross our fingers.

Cynic.

tRump's supporters will fawn over this, but we are fools if we trust KJU. To throw away or scale down his nuclear program would be to get rid of one of the few leverages he has.

I hold no real faith that anything good will come from this, just don't trust the Trump administration to lead any sort of diplomatic negotiations. But maybe he'll surprise us, and maybe we'll get something positive out of this (like Trump taking a back seat to S. Korea, lol).

i am concerned about the North Korean wants list. It would be overconfident to suggest that North Korea is only interested with the results of their economic isolation, there has to be something else to this.

hard to believe Kim un is that dumb; the DMZ is the only place for him to meet, if he has any brain cells to figure it out

He is signing his own death warrant if he does otherwise

I am an even bigger cynic. I believe that there will be a historic agreement made.

Then NK will haggle over the details until Trump is out of office.
