No, the sign is not obvious because "whiteness" is not a thing that can be "dismantled". It's a stupid sign and your inability to explain why it scares you so much is a sad display of group think and belief in a manufactured crisis. Has it occurred to you that the only people who think "whiteness" is under attack are the white people who control every aspect of the society?

What about them? We're talking about straight white men (mostly old and Christian ones) inventing an alternate reality in which their way of life is being "dismantled" by the sinister minority. I shouldn't be worried about scores of young adults being taught to hate whites through this indoctrination, because whiteness doesn't actually exist? That's not a great comfort, and it assuredly isn't making the case that I should just dismiss that fellow young citizens are being taught this propaganda as truth.

Again, speak for yourself. Just because you haven't experienced it, doesn't mean it does not exist. I have been denied a promotion because the company I worked for instructed HR to hire a minority to broaden their diversity. They came out and told me the reason when it was obvious I had more qualifications, plus I had been doing the work since my boss left almost a year before that.

That person had no experience and a real bad 'the world owes me' attitude. She lasted about 8 months.

You posted a chart of the racial composition of LA County as some sort of attempt to show me that white Americans are oppressed? I think you're very bad at this.

Now, your final statement indicates a gross ignorance about American and human history and identity. The oppressed minority groups within a society are not the problem with oppression. The oppressive majority is the problem. This country is in part as successful as it is because of its diversity, not despite it. Homogenizing the population doesn't ease social pressures in a country like the US because in case you haven't noticed, there is no shared culture that unifies white Americans. It's an incredibly diverse group of people who have no more in common with all of each other than they do with other Americans who share similar customs, values, and experiences. "Whiteness" is a concept that is being used as a weapon by the political right to create an artificial solidarity among some white people ("us") in order to unite them against everyone else ("them"). It's a dangerous and cynical method that has already been seen many times in history. I just have to keep holding onto hope that most Americans are not stupid enough to fall for it.

My sons didn't apply to UCLA. And they were accepted. One of my sons only got rejected at one school - Johns Hopkins. Probably by a more qualified candidate. That's how it usually works.
