Golden State Killer. 40 year cold cases of a rapist and serial killer finally caught. Or at least they have a suspect.

Suspect in Golden State Killer case was a recluse, neighbors say

For decades, a masked gunman nicknamed the Golden State Killer roamed through communities in California, raping dozens of women in a campaign of terror that left 12 people dead.

The string of crimes during the mid-1970s and 1980s later stopped, but the elusive killer remained a mystery for years as police searched for clues. The trail led authorities to Joseph James DeAngelo, 72, who was arrested Tuesday evening in a Sacramento suburb after detectives matched his DNA to evidence from the investigation, police said.

Even though he stopped long ago, his desire to keep souvenirs is what busted him.

I'm very glad they got him and really curious about what led them to seek his DNA. Hopefully more details will be released soon. I also wish they would quit showing his dumb face, right when I pulled up the article there it was again.

Now all they need to do is figure out who the **** the Zodiac killer was.
