Germany's Jews urged not to wear kippahs after attacks - BBC News

The leader of Germany's Jewish community has advised Jews to avoid wearing traditional skullcaps (kippahs) following anti-Semitic attacks.

Josef Schuster, the president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, told Berlin public radio that Jews should exercise caution in big cities.

His comments come ahead of a "Berlin Wears Kippah" solidarity march in the German capital on Wednesday.

Last week, two young men wearing kippahs were assaulted in the city.

Neo-Nazism, anti-Semitic & fascist emotions are on the rise in both Europe & the United States. After Trump's two-sided response to the Charlottesville tiki-torch demonstrations, one has to wonder how much he may have contributed to these attitude shifts.

Trump's stump speech rhetoric made them feel emboldened. I'm surprised that we haven't seen worse than Charlottesville. Tiki torch sales are slumping.

I am noticing something about the perpetrators of these crimes, they are mostly of the Islamic religion and middle eastern or sub Saharan African immigrants or the children thereof. Must be a coincidence.

I disagree. They are mainly the un-eduated & under-informed American whites who feel they are victims, same messages Hitler had for Germany in the 20s & 30s.

You'd have to be a real knothead to believe a president who moved the US embassy to Jerusalem is in cahoots with the antisemites. Of course being a knothead seems in trend bowadays.

Oh... so that was 400 Americans smashing and looting the kosher delis and supermarkets in ole Parie. Oh and burning down some mosques while they were in town sight seeing. That must be why the French president is in DC.

I agree with calamity. Trump spoke to the trailer park denziens in Flyover Country who feel victimized & now they feel emboldened to lash out at the people that they feel have held them down.
