A Tunisian man who once allegedly protected Osama Bin Laden has lived in Germany since 1997 and gets €1,168 (£1,022) a month in welfare payments.

He has to report daily at a police station.

I’m surprised Democrats didn’t aggressively move to get him into the US, so he could enjoy life here as a victim.

Did the US request extradition? Ya know, follow the legal process.

Democrats could smuggle him over the border.

PS. I think you missed the point of the thread. Odd, as I only wrote one simple sentence. Hmmmmmm...

911 was under Bush. Why did they not request extradition? Pretty simple question. Hard to misunderstand.

Missing the point... you are.

I thought you folks on the Left were the Meister’s of Nuance? And the OP barely has any nuance.

They did in 1999 and then again in 2013. Request was denied. Democrats had a meltdown.

I will see if I can find them... it has been awhile.

If you don;t know the person's name, it's going to be pretty difficult to find out if the US government ever asked for him to be extradited.

PS - Did you know that "Sami A" was investigated by the Germans and the charges against him (of being a member of al-Qa'eda) were dismissed?

PPS - Did you know that, in order for an extradition request to be honoured, the requesting country has to prove that it actually has SOME case against the person whose extradition they seek? That means "We say that he is a member of al-Qa'eda but we aren't going to show you any of the evidence that we have." simply isn't good enough.

PPS - You might find "Sami A., garde-du-corps de Ben Laden, échappe à l’extradition vers la Tunisie" interesting.

Full name is redacted as per German Laws.
I have been searching and all I get is 1st name and initial.
Cropped and tried Goggle photo search -No Joy

It is in French??
Can you provide a rough translation pls??

I could, but that would probably violate the posting rules.

If you plug the URL into "Google Translate" it will work.

However the gist of the article is that "Sami A" was investigated by the Germans and the charges against him (of being a member of al-Qa'eda) were dismissed for lack of evidence.

That left the US government to attempt to extradite him based on "We say that he is a member of al-Qa'eda but we aren't going to show you any of the evidence that we have." which simply isn't good enough.

You might find this summary of German extradition laws interesting as a starting point.

PS - God speaks French.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to deport Bin Laden's pos body guard? Not PC enough, obviously.

While not convicted, deemed a security risk. Cannot be deported as Tunisia is not deemed a safe country by EU

After obtaining a temporary residence permit in Germany in 1999 he took several technology courses and moved to the city in 2005.

His asylum application was rejected in 2007 because the authorities had listed him as a security risk. He has to report daily at a police station.

Funny, seeing how you're the one fabricating a hypothetical to play the victim here.

I believe Leftists need a crash course on reading comprehension... and vocabulary expansion, for I’ve now, yet again, come across a Leftist who does not seem to understand what the word “victim” means.

Odd, as it’s a huge pillar in your party’s platform.

PS. You’re another Leftist who failed to understand the OP. I thought you people were the Meister’s of Nuance? Guess not.

The OP was poking fun at:

1. Germany... for not locking up a terrorist, and throwing away the key. Instead, Germans are letting this asshole live in relative freedom, and they are paying for his doing so.

2. Democrats... they want open borders, which allows who know who into the country... for which the US Taxpayer pays... and which the Left treats like victims of an oppressive US system after they’ve arrived here illegally.

Have to make a couple notes:

1. Democrats do not understand what “victim” means.

2. Democrats fail at nuance and humor... and cannot stand having fun poked their way.
