Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property [W:298,518]

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

How do you know its baseless? Maybe its nothing or maybe he broke the law, its an unethical conflict of interest regardless.

I guess you think the rules do not apply to elite class conservatives like Hannity.

https://www.hud.gov/topics/homes_for_sale

go buy yourself a hud home.

No it isn't. Hud regularly puts their properties up for sale that includes foreclosures.
there is nothing unethical or a conflict of interest as he has been doing it for over a decade.

unless you want to say that the bush and obama administrations were also unethical and there was a
conflict of interest there as well.

get your TDS under control.

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

Conflicts of interest. Maybe this HUD thing is inconsequential, but the Cohen connection was definitely sinister. You know how most people only have one reputation and so many chances to do the right thing? Yeah, that applies to Hannity too.

I appraised HUD and other lenders foreclosures for years. Bought and sold a few myself. There's nothing sinister going on. It's all public record anyway.

So I'd better disclose. I've dealt with HUD.

This truly is the bottom of the barrel.

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

***BREAKING NEWS***
It was discovered Sean Hannity took home a pen from Fox offices. Special Council to be appointed. Liberals heads explode!

Breaking news, Sean Hannity can do any immoral or crooked thing he wants and conservatives will give him a pass, because the rules only apply to the serfs and not conservative gentry like Hannity.

What did he do that was immoral or crooked? Be specific.

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

It's usually best to avoid the echo chamber...that would be the OP's The Hill article or that Mediaite article I've seen linked in this thread...and go right to the original source: The Guardian article.

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2...n-hannity-property-real-estate-ben-carson-hud

The article states that the information is public.

"Hannity’s chosen investment strategy is confirmed by thousands of pages of public records reviewed by the Guardian, which detail a real estate portfolio of remarkable scale that has not previously been reported."

It also reaffirms my opinion that Hannity is the lowest, most dishonest, most hypocritical scumbag on TV. He rails against the programs that make him rich and blames a former president for an inherited economy while he gets even more rich off of it. Anyway, my personal disgust for the man is immaterial, but I'm not sure this is nothing. Why can't he just be honest with his audience? At the very least, I sense a guilty conscience.

Oh, no! Hannity made real estate investments and didn't disclose his person finances on the air. What a monster! Skirting the rules, because we always see hosts on CNN and MSNBC disclosing all the people they were in bed with in the Obama administration. NOT!

As I already pointed out, a HUD leaker gave The Guardian non-public information. The Guardian admits that. Now...after they got that info, they did a search in the public HUD records to get those "thousands of pages".

This whole mass of hyperbole and speculation is based on the illegal actions of a government employee.

In regard to your opinion, well, as you say...it's immaterial.

It also mentions non-public HUD filings.

No. I'm saying he's an unethical piece of ****.

"Unethical"?

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

I thought old Sean was against government programs?

He is also probably against excessive federal taxes and I bet he pays them anyway ... that hypocrite!

Hannity is on a news channel, reporting on stories he had a conflict in interest in, that is unethical.

Also how do you know there is not more to this story, it could be nothing or it could lead to domething more serious, you don't know.

Your side always want to investigate the Clintons, but you want to give people like Hannity a pass, different rules for different people. Meanwhile I do not like the Clintons or Hannity, so I say apply the same rules to both of them.

please identify for us exactly what conflicts of interest hannity had which should be found unethical

again, i look forward to reading your still absent cites

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

"Unethical"?

Not surprised you don’t see it. The right never had any ethics or morals to begin with. The election of Trump proved that in spades. And what has happened since has proven it even more. There is literally nothing you people value other than power.

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

What did he do that was immoral or crooked? Be specific.

Working for a news organization and not revealing a conflict of interest is immoral.

As for illegal, way too early to say, maybe it is nothing or maybe it leads to something more serious. I just think conservatives are applying a different standard to Hannity then they would for say the Clintons.

If real estate deals are nothing, was White Water nothing?

OMG! He just told you! It’s in the OP for god’s sake! Wow, I mean, I knew ethics didn’t mean anything to the right, but man, the willful ignorance is stunning.

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

Hannity making millions off the foreclosures with help from Ben Carson's HUD. He had Ben Carson on his show to kiss his ass about how great a guy Carson is for HUD and of course didn't disclose all this. And THIS is the small "real estate" discussions Hannity had with Cohen.
Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

Fox News host Sean Hannity is linked to a group of shell companies that have spent $90 million buying hundreds of homes across the U.S through the help of foreclosures and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Guardian reported Sunday. More than 870 homes in seven different states have been purchased over the past decade, ranging from large mansions to rentals for low-income families, according to the newspaper.

For some of the mortgages, Hannity reportedly obtained funding from HUD under the National Housing Act loan program, which was first guaranteed under President Obama’s administration. Secretary Ben Carson’s department recently increased Hannity’s original $17.9 million mortgage for purchases in Georgia by an additional $5 million, records obtained by the Guardian show. Hannity did not disclose his cooperation with HUD when he had Carson on his show last June, the Guardian noted.

What part of this do you have a problem with?

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

Wasn't White Water a real estate deal that Clintons were involved with that was shady? Clearly you can have crooked real estate deals, would you have brushed that off just a real estate deal back in the day?

But hey, since Hannity is a Fox News star, maybe you think that makes laws not apply to him, laws are not for members of the conservative ruling class like Hannity.

Um clearly they whitewater turned out to not be shady as it was investigated for four years and ended up in a blow job.

Do you think trumps deals will withstand the same scrutiny?

I wonder if hannity and trump were ever in a deal together or if they just shared the same mob lawyer...

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

What part of this do you have a problem with?

Seriously? Wow. Tell you what- I don’t ever want to hear anyone on the right criticize anyone lime Stormy Daniels ever again. You all have no sense of ethics whatsoever. It’s all explained in the OP. What further clarification could you possibly need?

Wait no, I think I’ve finally figured it out. As long as you can make lots of money, anything’s ok to the right. Screw integrity, professional ethics, etc.

=====================================
Slimy conflict of interest. No journalistic integrity. Hypocrite. Cohen + Hannity - perfect together.

What is considered a shell company in this instance?

Would that be a corporation?

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

There should be some corruption statute involved here. Get Carson for being complicit in a scheme to defraud the United States.

18 U.S. Code § 371 - Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud United States
US Code

If two or more persons conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

Where do you see fraud here?

Do you know the definition of that word?

Re: Sean Hannity linked to shell companies that spent $90M on property

And yet your side keeps talking about investigating the Clintons, you do not apply the same standards equally to everyone.
