James Comey on Donald Trump and the FBI - BBC News

The former director of the FBI, James Comey, has accused Donald Trump of telling lies.

“He has a habit of... telling lies, sometimes big, sometimes casual and insisting that the people around him repeat them and believe them and that stains any human," he said.
========================================
Thus spake James Comey as he was interviewed on the BBC program Newsnight last night.

So you are saying we have one liar accusing another liar of lying? Makes perfect sense to me.

It's not for either of us to decide because neither of us has the special power needed to know the truth in these conflicting views. But it is pretty well established that Trump is a chronic liar.

As long as Comey was telling the truth about Trump when he made those comments, and the preponderance of evidence tells us that he was, then whether or not Comey lied before is irrelevant.

How is this "breaking news"?

Comey is historically credible. Trump is a proven serial liar. So no. There is no equivalence.

I have a feeling that if Corey Feldman ran for office and spewed the same kind of nonsense as Trump, he'd actually be in the running for president.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, the Inspector General of the Justice Dept., this morning recommended the immediate indictment, arrest and a trial for Comey for repeatedly lying to investigators and in court subsequent to its own investigation. The IG's office operates independently of the remainder of the AG's offices, and is appointed by Congress with judicial recommendations. Meet the Inspector General. Michael E. Horowitz was sworn in as the Inspector General of the Department of Justice (DOJ) on April 16, 2012, following his confirmation by the U.S. Senate. Trump accepted the appointment with no objections. There were no senatorial or house objections to the appointment.

The IG's office also investigated Trump, made no recommendations.

We need more investigations. :rofl

Absolutely.

Exactly. Nobody had ever known anything about Comey until "gmailgate" occurred. Now a number character assassination hit pieces are being cited as evidence that Comey is some kind uber-corrupt FBI big wig who made it to the top by lying, cheating, stealing, and trying to control the outcome of the Presidential election from his office in D.C.

Do you have a source for this? I cannot find anything on the IG recommending the immediate indictment, arrest, and trial of James Comey.

I see that they recommended that McCabe should be criminally investigated, but nothing that said he should be immediately arrested and put on trial.

I'd like have a look at this thing on Comey you're referring to.

If Rainbow ever comes to the states, nothing else will matter.

I've never got to see him play live, it's a bucket list thing.

Him and Robin Trower.

I got to see Rush kick off their R40 tour in Tulsa two or three years ago. I was glad that happened. It was an incredible show, they hit everything almost perfectly.

I've seen Priest, Dio, Maiden, Scorpions, Van Halen (WAY back in 95 when I was kid), Saxon, Satriani, Vai, Malmsteem, and bunch others along the way, but sadly never did get to see Rush.

Now my Dad saw Purple and Rainbow with all their various line-ups, so he was really lucky.

And I love Trower!

He's incredibly underrated.

A little help for those who believe that Comey is not known to tell a lie:

pol·i·ti·cian.

a person who acts in a manipulative and devious way, typically to gain advancement within an organization.

He is one of my favorite guitarists...like ever.

Man he had one of the best bass players/vocalists in James Dewar. That guy was way under rated.
