They do, but what is he really going to do about it.

a lot. these are states- gas stations, the sanctions work, just look at Muscovy ...

lolol

OPEC is basically falling apart. Oil is at like $60 a barrel because of American fracking and Libyan/Nigerian exemptions to production limits. And newsflash to our great leader, American producers would love for oil to be $100/barrel again, too.

Was this a topic on Fox & Friends this morning or something?

Sanctions? How about sanctions against American companies who are exporting US oil, a lot to China?
Other side of the coin- under NAFTA the US is entitled to a percentage of Canadian production. If the negotiations break down (and a lot of us are getting to hope they do) all that oil goes on the world market. That might make the price drop just slightly.

Why would you sanction companies for exporting oil? You understand that American refining is a huge piece of the country's O&G industry, and that most of them import oil, refine it, then export it back out, right? So you want to punish a huge portion of the American O&G industry and put a ton of people out of jobs because, why, exactly?

I was being unsuccessfully (apparently) sarcastic, scorning the idea of sanctions on OPEC nations.
It's also true that the prohibition on oil exports was lifted a couple years ago, and the free-market imperative probably drives some of the increase in production, so exports are a net positive for the US.

China is a soft power, but Muscovy acts like Hitler and koba did in 20c. simply because he can sell to the free world stolen from Siberians oil , gas

Say, what the hell is with this 'Muscovy' thing anyway? That term only refers to ducks today. Why isn't China 'Cathay', if Russia is 'Muscovy'? Is Thailand still 'Siam' in your view? Sri Lanka, is it still 'Ceylon' or even 'Serendib'?

So what? Any Angles left in England or Franks in France? Muscovy is just the old name for the area around Moscow, when the whole of Europe was principalities and duchys and whatnot. Most of Russia is the area that used to be called 'Sibir'. Why name the whole country after one city?
Better question, why not use the same language as everyone else? If you want to communicate effectively, be accurate.
Muscovy. Let's just call England 'Saxe-Coburg', after the family that rules as it's monarchy.

At very favorable rates.

We should never have signed that agreement.

If NAFTA falls, everything will fall, even military co-operation. What will also fall will be electricity - we export more than we use - and cross border shopping.

And it just started getting good. Trump is playing very nice to Japan right now, seeking a delay in Japan signing the TPP so Trump can get back in, on his terms. If he wants TPP, and now he does, he has to accept NAFTA pretty much as it is.

So, in one week we have gone from being on the short end of the NAFTA stick to being in control of NAFTA and TPP, a "keystone" some say in the final product.

It appears Trump isn't all that bright when it comes to strategies

no, "russia" was called Muscovy in 19-20c. (Turkey, Ukraine, Romania) . again, "russia" is a fake name of Muscovy (official name ulus of juchi)

But he wrote the book on negotiating deals, didn't he?
He must finally be listening to advice about protectionism and isolationism in a global economy. We haven't heard any of his odd combination of whiny and tough about NATO for awhile, either. Tell the truth, I was getting to hope NAFTA collapsed and we went back to pre-Reagan and Mulroney and just did the free-market thing. Give us more room to deal with our new partners in Europe and Asia. I was kind of hoping he'd pull out of NATO, too, and we'd have heard the last of the complaining about defense spending.
