Two of President Trump’s top allies in Congress turned up the heat on Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein this week — warning him that he could be impeached if he doesn’t hand over documents about Hillary Clinton. GOP Reps. Mark Meadows of North Carolina and Jim Jordan of Ohio — leading members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus — put the squeeze on the man overseeing the investigation into Russian election sabotage during a meeting at the Justice Department on Monday, the Washington Post reported. The pair want to revive the investigation into the former secretary of state’s email server, and are demanding documents related to the FBI’s probe, which concluded that there was no basis for criminal charges against Clinton.

And what do think should the US government reopen the investigation into the former secretary of state’s email server?

However i'm afraid that we faced the situation when criminals'll go free just because the judge supports the same party.

I think trying to put political opponents in jail is an attack on democracy and is totally unAmerican. I hope it backfires in the GOP's faces and they find themselves under investigation and in jail

At least its good to know you're not a democrat at heart.

I believe in karma, is that so wrong?

Karma is a good thing to believe in. It helps keep people honest, or to the smallest extent civil in public interactions.

Why is this directed at Rosenstein? Isn't this a request that should be directed at Sessions?

To answer the question, if the statute has not expired then they are entitled to charge her if they feel there is sufficient evidence to do so. That's up to them. I think a review of the investigation is in order to determine if it was conducted correctly.

Sessions recused himself from the Russian probe, not any other situation like Hillary. So why isn't the request going to Sessions to answer for? I'd tell congress to go pound sand and talk to my boss and if HE makes the determination then (and only then) would I hand it over.

Probably pretext to fire Rosenstein, replace him with a toady, fire Mueller. Trump isn't a complete moron, but he's not that bright and his moves obvious, since Rosenstein knows there's nothing prosecutable already, any slight rerason will do.

Because 8 investigations into Hillary Clinton simply weren't enough...

Because this has nothing to do with Clinton and everything to do with Mueller and Trump. I don't know much about Meadows but Jim Jordan is one of the most dishonest partisan hacks in the House. This is all about deflecting the Mueller probe, either in the public consciousness and/or against Rosenstein.

Yeash that's the other angle it could be, just a "look at how bad dirth Hillar is" so the republicans can ignore conspiracy and collusion and obstruction, whatever else, then they can say, "well geee Hillary got away with worse, we really have to support our president". One thing that is clear, it's not serious business and don't expect anything real to come of it.

Yeah but in this case it isn't Trump doing it but the GOP lawmakers. It's really making them look stupid more than anything.

Morning Sly....Is it really relevant whether a person is investigated 8 or 80 times, if they committed crimes shouldn't they be held accountable?

These as far as I can see are two different tracks...It appears to me that the investigation into Hillary Clinton and violations of laws concerning a private email server were fixed, and need a new look....The Statute of limitations is no where near over.

Yes, according to democrats, republican's when in power should just sit on their hands and ask democrat permission to do anything....

Hey great job demonstrating your lack of reading comprehension today! Perhaps you can actually ANSWER the question of why they didn't go through Sessions instead of Rosenstein since you're feeling spunky.

Are you concerned with the email server? Has anyone indicted her yet? Has there ever been anyone in the history of mankind who was investigated more than Hillary without any charges ever being filed or any crimes revealed? Will they ever give up lying about the Clintons? We will never get these answers now that Art Bell has died.

You have 4 post so far and all of them in different threads talking about how the FBI is corrupt.

Got any other topics or is this your go-to only one?

Hey great job demonstrating your lack of reading comprehension today!

Starting out a response with me using a personal attack just shows your own lack of argument....You should really check yourself.

Perhaps you can actually ANSWER the question of why they didn't go through Sessions instead of Rosenstein since you're feeling spunky.

On this point, I actually agree with you. I think Sessions is AWOL in much of this whole thing, and should be replaced. My pick would be DiGenova to replace him.

The relevant question about that should be, has there ever been a more corrupt person involved in American politics in our history? The fact that she has managed to escape charges, or convictions to this point is only evidence of corruption within the Justice system if you ask me.

It was the truth, you laid out a strawman that had nothing to do with what I said. The only conclusion to reach is a lack of reading comprehension. That isn't a personal attack, that's fact.

On this point, I actually agree with you. I think Sessions is AWOL in much of this whole thing, and should be replaced. My pick would be DiGenova to replace him.

Hence why I said the GOP lawmakers were looking like the stupid ones to which you responded with a strawman.

I wanna know who the next boogeyman/woman will be after Hillary is gone?
Will she be posthumously jailed?
Will her child and grand children have to serve time for her?
I don't know about anyone else but I'm sick of hearing Hillary's name.
Hopefully the Clinton chapter will be dead before I am.

Morning Sly
Morning! Hope you and yours are doing well.
....Is it really relevant whether a person is investigated 8 or 80 times, if they committed crimes shouldn't they be held accountable?
It is only relevant in the sense if you've been investigated 8 or 80 times, then if there was something to be found, it would have been found. To the best of my knowledge, there is zero new evidence to suggest a 9th investigation is needed. If there was something new that would perhaps be different (it would depend on whats new), but this seems more like Congressman trying to find something new for political reasons, likely to undermine the special counsel's probe.

These as far as I can see are two different tracks...It appears to me that the investigation into Hillary Clinton and violations of laws concerning a private email server were fixed, and need a new look....The Statute of limitations is no where near over.
But why Rosenstein? If these are two different tracks and this has nothing to do with Mueller and Trump, why are they threatening to impeach Rosenstein? Is Sessions not the Attorney General?

I'm sorry, while I agree these SHOULD be two different tracks, I think it is clear they are not.

#buthillary

Sorry, Republicans, distractions won't save Trump from Mueller if there's something to find.

I'm not sure you know what a strawman argument is......

Oh yeah...Just the usual grind...ya know....;)

I think what is coming out new in this are the investigative tactics, or lack of employed by the FBI in her case. As well as details of the people involved in the investigation, and their own possible violations of criminal statutes concerned in exonerating her....

But why Rosenstein? If these are two different tracks and this has nothing to do with Mueller and Trump, why are they threatening to impeach Rosenstein? Is Sessions not the Attorney General?

That is an excellent question that I don't have an answer for....I think that Sessions is derelict in his duties at this point.

I'm sorry, while I agree these SHOULD be two different tracks, I think it is clear they are not.

Which is why I believe that at this point Sessions should step down.

I'm not sure you know what a strawman argument is......

Sure I do.

Here is what I posted:

Yeah but in this case it isn't Trump doing it but the GOP lawmakers. It's really making them look stupid more than anything.

To which you replied:

Yes, according to democrats, republican's when in power should just sit on their hands and ask democrat permission to do anything....

Now, point to where I said ANYHING about Republicans should just sit on their hands. Why bother even quoting me if you are going to post **** like that. Get your act together.
