GOP McConnell shuts down bill to protect Mueller

Good for him. The whole "Trump is going to fire Mueller" blather was just a LW generated rallying cry to bolster their fading standings with their base. Yet another nothingburger server up by the Dems.

I kinda do wish Trump would be dumb enough to engineer the firing of Mueller.

He would never make it to 2020 in office. Far better for the country.

It gets down to the question: "Can anyone among us survive a legal inventory under a microscope for two or three years and not be charged with something?" The answer is "not a chance". And that is the unfairness of the entire system.

Totally agree. That is why I smirk when people talk of "a nation of laws".

How Trump will see this as anything other than permission to throw every hand grenade he has into the investigations is beyond me.

Eleven Republicans have also just signed a letter demanding the DOJ to open investigations into McCabe, Clinton (shocker) and Comey, among others.

This has gone well beyond mere political tribalism. Something else is going on here.

And that was EXACTLY McConnel's intent. I think the colluskion with Russia reaches deep into the Republican party, deeper than just TRump.

Nice debating skills. You forgot to say "pants on fire."

Seriously? Debate with you? Where Trump is concerned, you are like the kid with his fingers in his ears, ignoring anything you don't want to believe and making up your own facts, there is no debating that, why? You can't even believe facts contrary to you opinion, you just twell us it's "fake news" what would even be the point? You've proven time and time again to be wholly incapable of grasping the facts, unless they shed positive light on your boy.:lamo

The odds of removing Trump from office are a million to one. So one of us is buying into a false narrative. It's funny you don't know who it is.

No, they're not.... Much higher...

The Ireland-based gambling website Paddy Power thinks it's highly unlikely Trump lasts his first term in office without being impeached. The odds are currently 4-7 that the president is impeached before Inauguration Day 2021. To put that in perspective, oddsmakers at Paddy Power think it's nearly twice as likely Trump will be impeached as it is that he will serve four years in office.

No, they're more like 4-7 at least at time of this story...

Doesn't living "fact free" ever get difficult for you?

the odds of Trump launching nukes by the end of this month are much, much, much better; I would say 50/50 ............ happy April ..........

It's so cute that you actually believe that. Unfortunately I can't explain basic math to you, but lets just say there is no way the left gets enough Senate seats to remove the President. Not this election cycle anyway. And if they get the numbers in 2020 while he wins reelection I can imagine how they start impeachment proceedings the next day. but they are dumb that way, so I won't put it past them. actually that would work even better then Pence would be an incumbent in 2024 and win. anyway, all these scenario's make me happy I'm not a Democrat. They may not see the White House again for a decade. so sad.

And you believe in the GOPs SWORN DUTY to cover the crimes of the president don't you?

1994-2001.

But that was an evil Democrat, so it's different!

Trump supporters conveniently forget how long the Starr investigation was. Mueller hasn't even been investigating one year, and they can't stand it. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds. Also according to Trump supporters, trump himself isn't under investigation. I'm beginning to think they live in an alternate reality.

Republicans have to be the adults in the room as usual. Democrats are willing to tear up the Constitution to get to Trump. Really the GOP is saving the left from themselves. One day(no time soon) a Democrat President will be in office, and you can't be allowed to enact laws that call for an untouchable investigation without limits against a sitting President. That's not how a democracy/republic works. Ideas like that are what bring down governments. And either the left are ignorant of these facts or just don't care.

If Trump does fire Mueller, based on McConnell’s actions, will he he an adult and resign?

"I think Mueller's been very successful in keeping his cards close to his vest and not revealing any plans. But my wish is that Mr. Mueller would go ahead and make a decision, even if it's not anything personally that President Trump has done to violate the law; then I think he ought to make that obvious. And if he has violated the law, that ought to be revealed as well.

Guess which Trumpster in an alternate reality said that? President Jimmy Carter.

Jimmy Carter Says Don?t Impeach Trump Even If Mueller Finds Dirt on President in Russia Investigation

Well, what do you say now, and careful not to be a hypocrite. Apparently you hate that.
