April 16 (UPI) -- Jon Lerner, Vice President Mike Pence's choice to be his his national security adviser, has withdrawn his name from consideration for the post.

Lerner is a deputy to U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and planned to stay in that position while advising Pence.
========================================
Lerner apparently withdrew his name after Pence was pressured by Trump. Lerner had been involved in the 'Never Trump' movement in 2016 & in other anti-Trump movements.

If he was a #NeverTrumper, he's a man with a brain. Doesn't belong in the Trump administration.

The reports say Pence spent months looking for a new national security adviser. So it remains that Pence is stuck under Trump's thumb for his national security personnel, info, policies. It's one of the few things Trump is consistent on. Insistent in fact.
