President Donald Trump wants to review some materials seized from his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, during an FBI raid last week so he can determine which are protected by attorney-client privilege, according to a filing in federal court.

One of Trump's attorneys is asking a federal judge to give copies of all of Cohen's seized materials to Cohen to let him identify any materials that involve Trump, and then to allow Trump and his attorneys to see those materials to determine which the president asserts his privilege over and which he believes are OK for investigators to see, according to the filing on Sunday.

Trump must be getting nervous when he won't even trust his lawyers to handle this task. I wonder what's hidden in all of Cohen's papers?

I think all criminals should be allowed to review their evidence and decide which of the evidence incriminates them and allow them to keep said evidence from the court.

A lot of acorns and some nuggets.

The lawyering here will be entertaining and amusing as Trump and his Gambino Specialty Legal Team try to finagle their way into this. Trump is of course chief of the executive branch so he has authority to look at what his branch guyz might be doing. It so happens Trump's Branch Office guyz at DoJ are investigating Trump the chief so the justices of Scotus might have to draw a line one way or the other. Likely in a way Trump won't like.

Trump is playing on ignorance of the law to try to make a case of attorney-client privilege. HE knows, his lawyers know that filing these objections is legal masturbation, he's giving the idiot crowd a base of argument.

f, as the President contends, the only person who could ever ensure that privilege is properly invoked is the privilege holder-(Letter at 6) then, contrary to common practice in this District, no filter team would ever be effective in screening the results of a search warrant. The rule would not be limited
to cases involving searches of attorney’s offices. Under the President’s theory, every person who has
communicated with a lawyer would be given
the power to turn every search warrant into a subpoena and to demand the return of lawfully - seized evidence in order to undertake their own review of the evidence. Such a rule is unworkable and ripe for abuse

But there are tapes. Cohen recorded most or all of his conversations. No emails, so the tapes were the audio equivalent.

Change won't come until whichever occurs first.

Either the fall election launches new House investigations into Trump next year. Possibly the Senate too depending on the election result.

Or the Trump Crime Family Syndicate becomes a liability to the interlocking Putin Global Crime Syndicate.

Each of 'em is based on Power For Profits.

Mueller going after Cohen launched the criminal pursuit of Trump and his nefarious enterprises and partners. Mueller knows it's the life they've chosen -- Trump, Putin, Cohen, Manafort et al. The power and the money encompass numerous countries and elites around the globe. When Trump actually won to become Potus they were pleased. Tickled. Now however they see it has called too much attention to 'em. None of 'em likes investigations. None of 'em like straight arrow US prosecutors coming at 'em whether state or federal or both. They can't afford it. So it is likely Trump is becoming expendable to 'em. Necessarily so.

Actually, that's a part of our legal system. All defendants are entitled to review all evidence collected, and contest it's admissibility where warranted.

Mr. Cohen should receive (and will, eventually) copies of his files that are retained by the government, and he will have the opportunity to contest them. If the files involve Mr. Trump, he absolutely should have the ability to protect communication and work product involving him. The issue here is, who gets to make the first pass.

I am surprised, given the high profile nature of this, that a special magistrate wasn't appointed for this. My bet is that very little of the documents have anything to do with Trump. It's all about using perception to create leverage.
