Not of any value according to whom?
lead a horse...........from either end....can't make him drink!
Read some history and get back to me.......

Cute, but you're still caught out with an unsupported claim.
From what I have followed along with, I think you are both skirting around an historical issue that is agreed upon by just about every single legitimate historian agrees with.
The Syrian regime lost nothing of value....Hell the Russians never even activated their antiquated defense missiles.....The whole thing was a sham

Greetings, Conservative. :2wave:
WHY do we want a regime change in Syria? I'm beginning to think I'm the only person here on DP who doesn't believe Assad is responsible for the recent chemical attacks in his country! Since I have yet to hear any rational explanation of why this might have seemed like a good idea to him, I am going to continue to believe the inspectors sent by the UN a few years ago - on the chemical attack that happened then - who stated Assad's government could not have been involved in the attacks and gave their reasons for their statement, one of which was the distance and the direction the missiles would have had to travel to deliver the chemicals, or something like that, IIRC.
In any event, I am glad that we have now destroyed the chemicals that we knew about, and I hope that's all of them!
I supplied the other poster with enough links, I can not read them for him. Tell me what was achieved in the Viet Nam action? There are volumes written about the deception involved in ramping up the war machine. If it wasn't Gulf of Tonkin do you not think there would have been another questionable "incident'" to gin up the action?
Refresh my memory as to 'my claim.'

And why would the Russians activate their missiles? They weren't the target and they knew it.
Some abandoned warehouses and chemical facilities...Nothing of any value....This was just some grandstanding by trump....Pathetic and weak
I never supported a regime change in Syria and am also happy that the chemical weapons centers have been destroyed. Whether he used the weapons or not isn't clear but the fact that he had them is. IMO some came from Iraq but regardless like you I don't know but do know that we did the right thing with our allies of UK and France which has to drive the left crazy.
They are deployed outside of Syrian Airfields...That should have been one of the targets...105 Missiles....Basically wasted on old buildings
First hand knowledge or just more leftwing hate rhetoric coming from you?

All media reports show Nothing of value hit.....Syrian TV showed Assad laughing and smiling......The attack was weak...timid and useless...US aircraft never entered Syrian Air Space

Well, Top, where do you stand?
On Tonken?
According to the historians,
Tonken was a huge misunderstanding on "the ground," which led to a misunderstanding at higher commands, which led to a known exploitation by the
Johnson Administration to convince Congress to give him authority to use conventional military force in Southeast Asia to protect local military forces.

And yet the 2 August attack is undisputed.
It may or may not have been a "non attack" but that's not really important. A decent respect for the fog of war should make people ashamed to characterize mistakes as lies.True... Twas the following non attack that many take as a "Lie".

Actually the biggest critics has been the Fox News Crowd...They look on Putin and Assad as Allies it seems
