Trump announces U.S. military strikes in Syria

32/103 is approximately a 32% hit rate. Would be good if the targets were few and in close proximity but the rate wouldn't be good for an all out war on a country, for example.

Nobody here is a war hawk. We are just not in the "No military action no matter what happens" crowd. Somewhere between six and 10 million jews died in Germany, Poland, etc, because the rest of the world was slow to get involved.

Trump's not flying the airplanes or pushing the buttons on the ships firing the tomahawks. Trump's competency or alleged lack of is not revelant. The military action just taken was either the right thing to do or not. Set the Trump hatred aside long enough to judge that. Should be have just left more Syrian children to die horribly by chemical weapon genocide?

he's the commander in chief, FFS. how is his competency not relevant?

i hate what's going on in that region of the world. i hate violence. i hate killing. i hate killing enough that i stopped eating meat. however, i do not believe that the Middle East is fixable via western military action.

That largely depends on Assad. if he insists on using chemical weapons, we will hit him again until he either stops or is unable to continue. If he gets the message, we are done in Syria. I suspect that last nite's strikes set Syrias chemical weapons program back significantly.

Not sure where you got the numbers above. The Syrian military has claimed shooting down 13 missiles (~120 fired). This is unverified.

Russian reaction to this attack is ignored by you, why? why is it you want to promote war talk when there has been no negative reaction to this attack by Russia and it is reported they didn't even turn on their anti aircraft and missile system? Is your hatred for Trump so bad that you continually want to promote another anti Trump thread instead of celebrating the success that our missiles with the help of allies UK and France actually destroyed their targets?

Only thing this strike is attempting to fix is Assad's use of chemical weapons against his own population. Assad is a war criminal for using those weapons. Should war criminals who commit genocide be left alone to continue the genocide? If we are not going to enforce the Geneva Conventions, the world might as well repeal them.

"asshole Trump?" What a classy response to our military action against a brutal Syrian regime. Such hatred from a blue state liberal who wants a return to the Obama malaise, poor economic policies, and appeasement. Sorry but your state taxes to fund those liberal social programs aren't going to be deductible any more so you can truly see the cost to blue states of those programs you want. Now the world can see when Trump puts a red line he will enforce it unlike Obama
