Mueller has evidence that Trump supporter's meeting with Putin ally may not have been a chance encounter: Sources - ABC News

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has obtained evidence that calls into question Congressional testimony given by Trump supporter and Blackwater founder Erik Prince last year, when he described a meeting in Seychelles with a Russian financier close to Vladimir Putin as a casual chance encounter “over a beer,” sources told ABC News.

Well-connected Lebanese-American businessman George Nader, a key witness given limited immunity by Mueller, has been interviewed seven times by prosecutors on a wide range of subjects. He told investigators that he set up a meeting in the Seychelles between Prince and Russian sovereign wealth fund CEO Kirill Dmitriev, mere days before Trump was inaugurated, sources familiar with the investigation said this week.

Erik Prince, Betsy DeVos' brother & Trump suppporter, flew to the remote Seychelles Islands in the Indian Ocean supposedly to meet with Emirates reps. He just happened to meet Dmitriev 'over a beer'. Dmitriev is a Russian oligarch with close ties to Putin. George Nader, a cooperating witness, has testified that he set up the meeting just before the inauguration.

When it's a smoking gun it'll be a smoking gun, but we should always be mindful of informants that tell you what you want to hear.

That was a big part how we were sold on invading Iraq, after all.

So...is this like, against the law or something?

Mueller is going to give Trump his wall, one brick at a time!

"may not have been a chance encounter?"

Prince is well known for his corrupt business practices.

Yes, lying under oath is a crime. Well, maybe not in the immoral tRump fantasyland where you reside, but in the real word it is.

Yeah...let me know when Brennan goes to jail.

Course several other nation's intelligence agencies cast deep doubt on much of the neo-con 'proof' and sources back during the run up to Iraq.

Now the biggest difference here is the setting for determining the value of the information is a court of law, not a neocon spin think tank using staged sound bites to try this in the court of public opinion.

I'm thinking the informant isn't going to be the evidence- it will be the information verified and cross examined in a court of law that will be doing more than smoking... :peace

Who gives a flying ****? What is this? a whine-fest?

"may not have been a chance encounter?"

How do you spell collusion? If not collusion, how about conspiracy against the United States?

18 U.S. Code § 371 - Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud United States
US Code

If two or more persons conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

i suppose that we'll see.

i suppose that we'll see.

I hope. But secret meetings between people close to Trump & Russian oligarchs seems to fit the conspiracy statute which is deliberately very broad in scope in order to cover as wide a range of actions as possible.

That would be a novel change

It also happened in 2017; after the election.

Mueller is investigating Russian interference, before the election took place.

This is nothing but a fishing expedition.

What was the "conspiracy", exactly?

Compared to the neo-con run up to Iraq and Trump's constant crapping on the truth on tweeter- yes it would be... one thing to make claims on tweeter- another while under oath... :peace
Any particular reason you leap frogged over the Obama administration?

Muellers order does not constrain him to crimes committed only in some narrow window of your own imagination, making your conclusion below:

This is nothing but a fishing expedition.
...absurd.

LOL you make 2 topics about this because you dont get the response you want HAHAAH!!! Gotta love how they want to put these things UP to gain as much needless ammo for a "Smoking Gun"

Kevin Bacon!!! For President!

Mueller has bounderies, just like any other investigator. He can't investigate anything he wants; like a meeting that occured three months after the election was over.

This is the sickening part they will and they will try all they can to FIND ANYTHING.... common they are hitting family business and finance..... they will do everything and anything out of desperation.

I just hope that the REAL grass roots of America can see what is going down. Trump is a scumbag and likely will always be a scumbag... But in his interest of being an American and putting America as "I know" it first... he seems to be doing so. Being American can be interpreted in MANY different ways, to be fair... BUT this current president seems to align with my beliefs and it seems many other people feel the same.....

So they can DIG all they want..... they can and will likely find SOMETHING... just nothing of treason or espionage or "Collusion"....... maybe not tipping a waitress the customary 20%...... Or not washing his dishes after he eats.....

No one claimed otherwise, you're pissing in the wind like usual.

like a meeting that occured three months after the election was over.
He can investigate that per his order, you're lying.

You defend every bogus fishing expedition he goes on. Obviously you think he isn't bound by the law.

Prove I'm lying.

if he sees a crime that has been committed, does he just ignore it?
