Sessions names prosecutor investigating claims of FBI misconduct

Just like Benghazi and OJ's hunt for "the real killers".

Same thing.

This "watchdog report" is the DOJ OIG report. This is the basis of the decision to investigate the actions of FBI and DOJ people...which includes McCabe.

The DOJ said it needed time to redact information related to the OIG investigation so that they didn't divulge any information to the House Judiciary Committee that related to any grand jury proceedings. This is purely speculation but I wonder if this relates to the grand jury.
DOJ spokesman Ian Prior said in a statement that officials are carefully combing through the documents page-by-page to protect certain sensitive information. He also pushed back on the breadth of the document request, saying the DOJ believes there are 30,000 documents relevant to the committee's inquiry and describing the 1.2 million document request as "substantial."

"We are individually reviewing the remaining documents to ensure that they do not include grand jury information, information about ongoing law enforcement actions involving American citizens, or privileged attorney-client communications," Prior said. "In cases where redactions have been necessary, the Department has, when appropriate, provided Committee staff an opportunity for in-camera review of unredacted materials."

I think that Muller's parameters of his appointment was overly broad, as we see today...I haven't seen this prosecutors parameters, but my guess is that his mandate is not as wildly broad as Muller's....

Why do you think the Muller mandate would be broad?

Looks like McCabe is being thrown under the bus by Comey, but CNN wants to protect both of the lying **** and starts spinning a story.

"... Another source familiar with the matter argued that the discrepancy between the two accounts is more about the fact that they are recalling the interaction differently than a dispute about what took place, saying both were acting in "good faith."

"They recall it differently," the source said. "Andy thinks in good faith he told him, and Comey in good faith says he wasn't told."
The source added that "the notion that the two guys are pitted against each other is crazy." ..."

"told in good faith" ...

What happened to all those notes those guys are supposedly taking ... like all the time ... :lamo

An Obama appointee, Mr. Huber seems a good choice to look into the Republican crocodile-tear complaints.

Actually about the only way that anyone could "look into" the "complaints" about Mr. Trump and/or Ms. Clinton would be if they brought in someone from Botswana and gave them a free hand - and even then I'm not sure.

Realized that after I posted but ty for the correction. I'm a little uncomfortable with that fact. I want someone independent leading this type of investigation

Washington (CNN)Attorney General Jeff Sessions revealed Thursday that Utah's top federal prosecutor, John Huber, has been examining a cluster of Republican-driven accusations against the FBI and has decided that no second special counsel is needed -- at least for now.

Huber has been looking into allegations that the FBI abused its powers in surveilling a former Trump campaign adviser, and more should have been done to investigate Hillary Clinton's ties to a Russian nuclear energy agency, but his identity had remained a secret.

This should please those on the Right.

If it were up to me, and investigator of an elected official should be required to produce a quarterly report as to progress so far, and to justify its exinstance for another quarter. AKA “the **** or get off the pot” rule.

They get these retired guys who want to get back in the game and have forgotten “justice delayed, is justice denied” and they keep on keeping on as if it’s a hobby. Then on the other hand, you have the up and comers who are searching far afield and finding nothing but headlines, cocktail party invites, and frequent flyer miles. The “this is not a business as usual case” rule.

They have to speed them up.

What I like about this guy is a federal prosecutor is more prosecutor, less investigator. Get in, get done, get out.

McCabe,s lawyer claims McCabe has a record of correspondence with Comey about the meeting with the journalist so at this point it looks like Comey is lying.

I give the American people more credit than you for being able to tell the difference.
