Cambridge Analytica suspends CEO Alexander Nix after undercover recordings air

Funny.

When Obama put together this data analytics team and won, it was the praise of all the Dems (and yes, this included Facebook data, a lot of it).

The conclusion the GOP'ers came to is that they needed to get better at data and at social media, and they have.

Now, someone else, a non-Democrat, does exactly the same thing, and its all illegal or something.
You guys need lessons on consistency.

Everything I've heard reported so far is this appears to be legal, at least so far.

The data was gathered using Facebook apps that were in the form of questionnaires, and Facebook users clicked, giving permission for the app to access all their Facebook account data. Having trouble finding the crime here, accessing a user's account data when they'e given you permission to do so.

Seriously. Everyone's in an uproar, because of why?

What's more serious is that all the various media platforms are being coerced to purge any Conservative ideas or posts, and they are doing it, and losing subscribers over it too.

Even money bet is that conservative friendly social media platforms will spring up, and the leftist ones will have decreased membership.

Yet more balkanization of the US. <*sigh*>

That horse left the barn in 2012, Maxine Waters was bragging about the database that Obama and the Democrats had built and how it would be an advantage going forward. This isn't some new tactic.

More "What About" Defense

Dah it is "Illegal or something"........Good anal-ysis

How is what this firm did any different than what Fusion GPS did for the Democrats? Why does the GOP have to play with one hand tied behind their back?

It's not even close to the same. But again it is telling you have a problem with him talking but not what they did. You guys hate Dems so much you actually side with foreign entities. Disgusting.

They sure make it easy for the Russian Trolls

And like usual righties come in here all with the same exact whataboutism that fox and the echo-chamber has fed them. Had they read this really short thread (to this point), they'd know how it was different.

Nah,,it is a "what about"....Defense...Total fail

Only I'm not defending it. This is simply how things work on the internet. If you put your information out on the internet are you really surprised that politicians and corporations are going to collect it and use it to further their agenda?

But, you're ok with a campaign hiring a British spy to pay Russians to dig up dirt on another campapaign.

Hypocrisy much?

I;m disgusting a National Campaign would break the Law and work with a super pac that hired a foreign entity to illegally obtain personal data and give to Russian Hackers to spread fake news!

So you are okay with Campaigns working with Super PACs and foreign entitys to illegally obtain personal data then help others spread fake news?...Got it....

No, I'm not. However, if your opponent is using those tactics and not getting hammered for it then you're a damned fool not to pick up that stick and start whacking some skulls. When the referees choose not to call penalties you play the same game your opponent does.

All the empty claims of 'WhatAboutIsm' ring empty. The facts are plain. The fact is that Obama was applauded with his use of Facebook data and data analytics to micro target voters.Someone else, a non-Democrat, doing exactly the same thing, and there's fauxrage over it.Those would troubling facts for you to reconcile, and, no doubt, present any thinking individual cognitive dissonance in the extreme.Like I said, you guys need some lessons in consistency. And with this lack of consistency, its hard to take you and your continual fauxrage seriously.

Oh no people. You got jack caught in a victim card loop.

So your okay with those that get caught, being prosecuted.....Good

"Doing exactly the same thing"?.....LOL

While agree with you to an extent, it isn't just one side that needs to remain consistent. Many of the same people that defend Trump on stuff he has done or proposed were raising hell with Obama doing it. Modern politics has become nothing more than a tribalistic **** show and both sides are more than ok with excusing their group for stuff they denounce on the other side.
