Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe fired

I'm not aware of any personal attack or appeal to authority, but to each his own.
A professional inquiry yielded a professional judgment confirmed by a professional statutory IG, and a recommendation for action. The AG followed that recommendation. Case closed.
Objections derive from Trump-hate and nothing more.

Yeah, BS. You've claimed your own authority as source a dozen times this thread, then insulted my by claiming, "They live and work at a level with which you are apparently not familiar." You don't know me, or my associates and friends, and if not an ad hominem is just arrogance on stilts.

If you actually believe that last statement, you've got your head so far up the GOP's rear end you've forgotten what it looks like in the outside world. MAGA!!

Absolutely. He took the recommendations from the DOJ and FBI and signed the paper firing McCabe. Wray probably had some input also. He finally grew a spine, maybe. Not sure however. Strzok and Page haven't been fired yet. We'll see when the OIG report comes out.

And by signing that paper he was violating the terms of his recusal.

Jeff Sessions is supposed to be recused from any matters relating to the Russia investigation. McCabe is one of the primary witnesses in that investigation.

Rosenstein should have been the one who handled McCabe’s situation.

I am giving you the same kind of source that a statement from McCabe would be. You deserve no better. You haven't given any proof that the process or the people in the FBI and DOJ, Will, Horowita and Schools, recommended McCabe be fired are corrupt.

You've taken to pretending evidence wasn't given that the process is hopelessly corrupt. Here it is again.

First, the evidence that Trump had it in for McCabe personally, and that the firing addresses Trump's specific complaint, i.e. McCabe keeping his retirement benefits. It's also evidence that Trump fired him for his connection to the Mueller investigation:

"FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is racing the clock to retire with full benefits. 90 days to go?!!!"

https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/...692166?lang=en

And of course this is just from last night:

"Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI - A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!"

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/...59881827258369

"The Fake News is beside themselves that McCabe was caught, called out and fired. How many hundreds of thousands of dollars was given to wife’s campaign by Crooked H friend, Terry M, who was also under investigation? How many lies? How many leaks? Comey knew it all, and much more!"

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/975062797162811394

"As the House Intelligence Committee has concluded, there was no collusion between Russia and the Trump Campaign. As many are now finding out, however, there was tremendous leaking, lying and corruption at the highest levels of the FBI, Justice & State. #DrainTheSwamp"

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/975057131136274432

All of which confirms his hatred for McCabe personally, and that he was fired because Trump hated that he was under investigation by Mueller, and not for any legitimate reason.

And this:

Shortly after President Trump fired his FBI director in May, he summoned to the Oval Office the bureau’s acting director for a get-to-know-you meeting.

The two men exchanged pleasantries, but before long, Trump, according to several current and former U.S. officials, asked Andrew McCabe a pointed question: Whom did he vote for in the 2016 election?

McCabe said he didn’t vote, according to the officials, who, like others interviewed for this article, spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk candidly about a sensitive matter.

Trump, the officials said, also vented his anger at McCabe over the several hundred thousand dollars in donations that his wife, a Democrat, received for her failed 2015 Virginia state Senate bid from a political action committee controlled by a close friend of Hillary Clinton.

And then there is that minor point about McCabe being a witness in the Special Counsel's investigation into Trump's Russian connections.

Next, the evidence that the DOJ has caved to Trump's insistence on using the DOJ to go after his political rivals:

"Everybody is asking why the Justice Department (and FBI) isn't looking into all of the dishonesty going on with Crooked Hillary & the Dems......People are angry. At some point the Justice Department, and the FBI, must do what is right and proper. The American public deserves it!"

Sessions: ask and ye shall receive.

"The Justice Department has launched a new inquiry into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged in any pay-to-play politics or other illegal activities while Hillary Clinton

FBI agents from Little Rock, Ark., where the foundation was started, have taken the lead in the investigation and have interviewed at least one witness in the last month, and law enforcement officials said additional activities are expected in the coming weeks."

"U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions says the Department of Justice will consider investigations into Hillary Clinton and alleged ties between the Clinton Foundation and the sale of Uranium One."

Finally, McCabe's lawyers weren't even allowed to present a defense for him. That's emblematic of a process that's dirty as hell.

Yeah, BS.

As I've said before, I'm content to wait for the end. Then I'll measure your embarrassment.

It does actually mean lying. What would you call a statement that is lacking in honesty?

Oh the English language is rich with euphemisms for this activity this owing to the fact that it's a favorite human pastime.

Tall Tale, Whopper, Fib, Stretcher, Misrepresentation, Falsehood, Fiction, Untruth, Concoction, Canard, Prevarication, **** and bull story, Fish story, Poppycock, Booty chatter, Bull honky, Crock, Flapdoodle, Inveracity, Misstatement, Prevarication, Rubbish, Twaddle, Piffle, Malarkey, Codswallop, Pish posh, Hokum, Baloney, Hooey, Hogwash, Moonshine, Balderdash, Horse manure, Jiggery-pokery, Bunk to name only a few..

So, therefor, your happiness regarding the statement "Trump will see jail time"

My happiness that Trump will see jail time? When did I express that?

Absolutely. He took the recommendations from the DOJ and FBI and signed the paper firing McCabe. Wray probably had some input also. He finally grew a spine, maybe. Not sure however. Strzok and Page haven't been fired yet. We'll see when the OIG report comes out.

LOL, Sessions grew a spine by doing what Trump had been demanding Sessions do for months, during a week when 'someone' in the WH was running all over town with leaks about Sessions himself about to get the "YOU'RE FIRED!" treatment? That's an....interesting take.

I'll quote a lawyer explaining the distinction [there's a longer discussion there if you're interested]:

https://mspbattorneys.com/blawg/subjective-disciplining-candor/

FWIW, before anyone claims I'm trying to excuse "lack of candor" - that's false. My point is it's not "lying" and the circumstances and the subject matter quite a bit, or could matter. We don't know what he wasn't appropriately forthcoming about, or on what question he might have dodged, or provided a less than complete answer, etc. In his statement, McCabe says:

The initial answers even if corrected could be interpreted as "lack of candor" depending on the issue, etc.

They are distinct charges, but they are both lying. As an example: If a driver drank a six pack of beer before getting behind the wheel and was pulled over, falsification would be "I didn't have anything to drink" while lack of candor would be "I only had one or two beers". Both are lies.

During these inquiries, I answered questions truthfully and as accurately as I could amidst the chaos that surrounded me. And when I thought my answers were misunderstood, I contacted investigators to correct them.

The initial answers even if corrected could be interpreted as "lack of candor" depending on the issue, etc.

Which is ironic because, if you read the Mueller indictment, that is precisely the level of error for which Papadopolous was indicted.

If a signed confession was proven during trial to have been beaten out of the suspect, what would that do to the remaining evidence against the defendant?

:hearty round of applause:

Well done, sir.

My happiness that Trump will see jail time? When did I express that?

The same time that "Fox Viewer" from your post did.

Now there's a personal attack.
As I've said before, I'm content to wait for the end. Then I'll measure your embarrassment.

There was more added!!

As to the "measure" you can make up any number you like. If it rises above zero on your scale, it will be BS because I will feel zero embarrassment about demanding to see evidence before jumping on board the conclusions of a process Trump corrupted with his meddling.

If a signed confession was proven during trial to have been beaten out of the suspect, what would that do to the remaining evidence against the defendant?

Not sure what that means...I asked you a clear question, why be vague about your answer....?

The outcome for McCabe would have been precisely the same if Donald Trump did not exist.
An IG investigation is not a legal proceeding and lawyers are inappropriate. McCabe's recourse is to the court system, but that would open him up to deposition under oath, something he did not face with the IG.

Not sure what that means...I asked you a clear question, why be vague about your answer....?

The answer to my question answers your question.

In order for you to believe your post, you must by necessity pretend that the evidence I posted wasn't written.

There was more added!!

As to the "measure" you can make up any number you like. If it rises above zero on your scale, it will be BS because I will feel zero embarrassment about demanding to see evidence before jumping on board the conclusions of a process Trump corrupted with his meddling.

The process was not corrupted.

They are distinct charges, but they are both lying. As an example: If a driver drank a six pack of beer before getting behind the wheel and was pulled over, falsification would be "I didn't have anything to drink" while lack of candor would be "I only had one or two beers". Both are lies.

You didn't read the link, or think about it much, because "lack of candor" could mean omitting relevant information, which isn't a lie. If the cop said, how many shots of tequila did you have, and the driver says "none" because he'd drunk whiskey or beer, that's not a lie, but when talking with the FBI would be a lack of candor. The bottom line is the FBI rightfully won't accept evasion or partial answers that might be fine in a deposition or courtroom. They will assume you know the point of the question, and will answer the question fully without attempting an "definition of is is" evasion or similar, or conveniently leaving out information you know is relevant to the question.

Which is ironic because, if you read the Mueller indictment, that is precisely the level of error for which Papadopolous was indicted.

We don't know what the "lack of candor" refers to with McCabe, about what incidents or how his lack of candor was manifested, so you cannot make that statement based on the facts that we know. It's ??????? versus a document outlying a guilty plea with specifics. I'm not sure how to compare those two things...

And you've mischaracterized PapaD's lies. I'd quote them but anyone can read the indictment here: https://www.lawfareblog.com/george-papadopoulos-stipulation-and-plea-agreement

At the least, his misstatement about when he met the Russian agent and when he learned of the emails was a material lie. The "lack of candor" charge might apply with regard to his mischaracterizations of the people he met as nobodies, etc. when he was using their status to try to arrange high level meetings between Russia and the Trump campaign.
