There are contradictory reports on this right now. I would hold off on this one until we see McMaster leaving the White House holding a box with his belongings in it.

Well, the Washington Post is confirming it. Whoever fills his position will be worse (especially if it's Bolton). In a kakocracy, every successive person is always worse.

Maggie Haberman says that a favorite game of Trump's is to let news outlets come out with reports about Palace Intrigue stories, then do the opposite so he can call them fake news.

Also, "there are no changes" does not equal "changes will not be made."

If I had to guess, I'd say the White House is having fun with the confusion it's created.

McMaster and Mattis were America's last best hope to avoid military conflict under this egomaniacal moron. If they go, all is truly lost.
 
Firing McMaster would make no national security sense, especially with discussions with North Korea, which means it is more likely than not.

What seems to be emerging is Trump hunkering down and surrounding himself with yes men/women.

Exactly. Even "sources" in the WH confirm that Trump gets extremely angry at anyone who dares tell him "no, you can't do that".
