1) Johnson. Not LBJ. The other Johnson--the Johnson, who before Bill Clinton was the only President to face impeachment.

2) Public opinion polling shifted dramatically in Nixon's case. From the beginning of the scandal to the end. Ford couldn't get past the impact of it.

3) Gore made the choice to distance himself from Clinton during the campaign, despite polling findings, because it would complicate his own candidacy. This was the correct choice to make.

Even a conservative such as Charles Krauthammer had the guts and intelligence to go on FOX NEWS and state that the Trump Tower meeting was collusion to violate federal campaign law. All you are doing is playing ostrich and denying what is reality.

Nixon had to vacate the premises. Ford lost his election in the aftermath.

Gore (correctly) figured out that campaigning with Clinton was a liability. He very narrowly lost, sure, but it did damage to the party for years and is still hurting.

if all they get him on is obstruction it will look WAY more like the Bill Clinton than the others. Clinton's supporters thought the impeachment was politically motivated so his Demorat support went from like 80% to above 90%. It will play out the same way here. This will look like a political move by the Democrats and it will backfire like it did for the GOP and Clinton. It's as simple as that.

Krauthammer was extremely vocal when all that **** about the Trump Tower meeting came out. I remember watching him on Baier's show, and he was emphatic that the entire thing was the very definition of collusion.
