Family of slain Democratic staffer Seth Rich sues Fox News

Seth Rich was shot two times, in the back, nothing was stolen and the D.C. police ruled it a botched robbery. Yeah, nothing fishy about that.

Wow so Hillary got the DC police to lie for her?.....Gosh who knew..

Right, because muggers accidentally shoot their victims twice, from behind and don't steal anything. That happens all the time, like that...lol

The DC police say it was a botched Robbery...Are you calling the Police liars?

Liars? No. Am I accusing them of not conducting a thorough investigation? You bet!

Sounds like a frivilous lawsuit.

Also, I like how CNN says "death" instead of murder. That's tells you exactly where this is headed.

Yup. I watched the Fox News coverage including Sean Hannity's focus on it, and it was nowhere near as speculative or outrageous or suggestive as the stuff we see on CNN and MSNBC every night.

The point is, the robbery memes the media pushes could be the correct one or not. For sure there has been little or no serious investigation that we know of despite the fact that nothing was taken from Rich's body which in most cases would put a robbery motive at least in question.

And there is the fact:

. . .But when the victim, in this case of murder, is the information technology specialist for a national political party consumed in an IT nightmare that could doom the chances of its presidential candidate, not interviewing co-workers is – by police standards – unthinkable.

Even more significant, when there are broad hints that thousands of emails embarrassing to the party and the presidential candidate find their way onto WikiLeaks, it is cause for suspicion.

When the leader of WikiLeaks mourns the victim on television and talks of the extreme risks involved in the work the organization does, there’s enough smoke for the FBI to step in and take control of the victim’s computer. . .
Who do you think killed Seth Rich?

I can't see that the family has any basis to blame Fox News for coverage of a story like that. For damn sure if it was a Republican involved in that kind of scenario, the MSM would have gone into frenzy mode and would have speculated on it for days.

So Hillary got to them, and the FBI and the DOJ, the Dept of Defense, the DMV....Quite a conspiracy you got going

Rich's family might have received threats, of some kind.

I read the part, past the headline, that you quoted. :lamo

Congrats on making it barely past your usual limit. Should've read the story so you could make an actual informed opinion.

It's already been proven that there is a pro-Left element within the FBI. It isn't a stretch to suggest that the same thing exists within the D.C PD.

Keep digging. :lamo

No, no such thing has been proven.

You seems awfully confused about all this.

Civil Action No. 18-cv-2223

COMPLAINT

Jury Trial Demanded

PLAINTIFFS Joel Rich and Mary Rich, by and through Massey & Gail LLP and Susman
Godfrey LLP, their undersigned attorneys, bring this Complaint against Defendants, and in support state:
INTRODUCTION

1.Joel and Mary Rich, grieving parents of a murdered child, seek justice for having become collateral damage in a political war to which they are innocent bystanders.

2. In July 2016, Seth Rich, a young Democratic National Committee (“DNC”) employee, was murdered in the streets of Washington, D.C., in what authorities have stated publicly was a botched robbery. Fox News, Fox reporter Malia Zimmerman, and Fox News
contributor and political operative Ed Butowsky intentionally exploited this tragedy—including
through lies, misrepresentations, and half-truths—with disregard for the obvious harm that their actions would cause Joel and Mary.

3. Fox News, Fox reporter Zimmerman, and Fox News contributor and political operative Butowsky thought much could be made of the fact that Seth was a DNC employee. They induced Joel and Mary, his parents, to hire Rod Wheeler, a purportedly independent investigator, to
help “solve” their son’s murder. Defendants worked with Wheeler to pursue and develop a fiction
that Seth had leaked thousands of DNC emails to WikiLeaks. And they published, republished,
and publicized the sham story—which they knew would be covered again and again, and republished, here and around the world—painting Joel and Mary’s son as a criminal and a traitor to the United States.

4. Defendants also intentionally made it appear that Joel and Mary were involved in and confirmed the substance of this smear campaign.

5.Defendants’ actions have precipitated broad outrage, regardless of political affiliation, including from internal Fox personnel and Fox advertisers. Defendants’ conduct was extreme and outrageous.

6. Joel and Mary bring this case to hold Fox News, Fox reporter Zimmerman, and Fox News contributor and political operative Butowsky accountable. They seek to help prevent similar malicious and reckless conduct to protect future innocent victims from similarly becoming political fodder.

How many have gone over to Hillary's "side"?...20?...100?.....How can America root them out?.....Remember Obama controls the internet....and the drinking water

Rich's family might have received threats, of some kind.

They still don't have grounds for a lawsuit unless it was Fox personnel making the threats. Consider that somebody making a political statement on Facebook or speaking at a rally or expressing a point o view can and do routinely get death threats these days.

Last August Fox contributor, Rod Wheeler, filed suit against Fox claiming they used his quotes to fabricate a false story. It went nowhere.

That there was almost no MSM coverage of the murder once Rich was linked to the Clinton campaign, but the focus immediately turned to accusing Fox News and/or a conspiracy between Fox News and the Trump Administration to deflect from the Russia investigation, also gives any responsible journalist or intellectually honest citizen pause for thought.

How did Hillary murder Seth Rich?...Did she use a Rifle o Hand gun?

Who said she did? Certainly not Fox News. And certainly not me. Where did you get such an idea? Daily Kos? Media Matters? CNN?

Just trying to keep up wit the latest nut job Right Wing conspiracy theory...It is difficult there are so many

You should probably review the left wing's trail of conspiracy theories re Russia et al before you worry too much about what the right wing is speculating about. But wording a question as if something is a fact that isn't doesn't do much for anybody's credibility.

I am glad as well. This will lead to discovery, opening up areas the DNC dont even want to go. Opened up a can of sweet worms where Fox can go fishing into areas heretofore closed off...Seth was an IT guy, so those suspect servers might get some prying outside fingers reaching in to see the goodies secreted within.

Bravo Smart move Rich family...just might to lead to solving his "robbery" and murder..

I’d be satisfied to know who killed him and why.

Did the Clintons really have to have him killed?

Did Erod rape and murder a fourteen year old girl in 2004?
