Despite the White House's attempt to kick out McEntee in secret, it's been uncovered that the reason for a hasty forced exit, one that denied him the ability to gather his belongings, was due to being under investigation by DHS for "serious financial crimes."

What kind of financial crime does the Department of Homeland Security investigate?

(CNN)President Donald Trump's longtime personal aide John McEntee was fired because he is currently under investigation by the Department of Homeland Security for serious financial crimes, a source familiar with his firing told CNN.

The charges are not related to the President, the source said.
Minutes after news of his departure broke, the Trump campaign announced McEntee would be joining the reelection effort as a senior adviser for campaign operations.

McEntee escorted from the White House on Monday, three sources with knowledge of the matter told CNN. Two sources said McEntee was pushed out because of issues with his security clearance, making him just the latest aide to be forced out because of difficulties obtaining a full security clearance.

The more important question is what kind of financial crime disqualifies someone from working for Trump?

Maybe he took a bribe from someone who was not a Russian :shrug:
 
For some reason I can't quite put my finger on, the most corrupt people in the United States are inexplicably drawn to the idea of working in this White House. If only there was some common denominator that might shed light on this ongoing phenomenon.

Between this and the way they're handling the Tillerson firing, the White House is in full coverup mode. And they're really, really bad at it.

I know, isn't it awesome that we have a complicit Republican congress to help cover up, de-legitimize investoigations, obstruct for them? It's just neat-o! America's legendary corruption is working great, never before has an adminstration been so able to openly violate the rules and get mulligans. This is amazing, the Greedy Old Prick party should be swelling with pride! Hopefully pocketing all the cash they can as so many resign to take cushy private sector jobs and preparing to buy the batch that replaces them. Wow, American is so great, just swell wally!
