WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump’s lawyers are seeking to negotiate a deal with special counsel Robert Mueller that uses an interview with the president as leverage to spur a conclusion to the Russia investigation, according to a person familiar with the discussions.

The president’s legal team is considering telling Mr. Mueller that Mr. Trump would agree to a sit-down interview based on multiple considerations, including that the special counsel commit to a date for concluding at least the Trump-related portion of the investigation. One idea is to suggest a deadline of 60 days from the date of the interview, the person said.

Or, when all his leads are exhausted, or when he discovers exculpatory evidence. His "being ready" is irrelevant.

With news that Kushner may have been using his position to gain loans. With Price's meeting in the UAE and Seychelles his House testimony is on record, so when will Mueller interview him. What was he doing, who authorized what???? Nader has the answers and more
Nader is well connected in the ME and I am sure he has a long list of skeletons and the ability to make them appear if needed to save his ass.

And I am waiting for others in the Trump campaign to be interviewed by Mueller. Kushner, Don Jnr, KT McFarland, Sater, possibly Trumps executive secretary. She would be keeper of the Keys of many things private for Trump.

I think they want Mueller to get it over & done with Trump well prior to the 18 elections. And that ain't happening.

Mueller has all the cards on how the interview will be conducted and what will be covered.
Trump always has the right to refuse an interview, then Mueller gets a Subpoena.
 
His lawyers will go down as the most clueless legal counsel in history.

They should be keeping President Foot in Mouth, as far away from Mueller as possible. There are too many variables as to what Mueller knows, as well the possibility that Mueller might plan to refer to the House Judiciary a case of obstruction of justice anyways, and the likely hood of Trump lying in his interview would just make the case more damning.

And if they think they can bargain with a prosecutor like that, they need their heads examined.

Yeah as much as the trumpsters don't want to admit it, he's building a rock solid case. He just better hope that Trump doesn't do any lasting damage to the American Justice system before he decides to charge Trump. Otherwise Mueller's hesitation will cost us the entire country.

Leads are exhausted????? If they tripled the staff, they might exhaust the leads by the end of his Presidency in 2020.

Almost weekly we learn of new facets to the Trump corruption. You do realize that now the Stormy Daniels hush money will be incorporated into the Mueller investigation?

Perhaps they could work out a deal that if Trump resigns, they could charge the people associated with the hacking and e-mail release, issue a report and shut down. But, we really don't know what Mueller has at this point.

That's interesting I hadn't thought about that. Stormy kept her dress.... She did probably keep other stuff.

Will they be put into the Trump presidential library along with Green Eggs & Ham? :lamo
 
I figure Trump will keep firing his lawyers until he finds one that can negotiate immunity for him to testify.

I think this investigation could easily run into 2019. Consider the moving parts involved- Ukraine- Russia- UAE- Qatar- Germany - Money laundering. Possible pay for play. Nader was quite a surprise for many. Those involved with Prince's meeting, if they were not as he testified to, are dropping bricks.

Mueller is a fine chess player. Always a surprise from those charged, to interviews and what the topics were.
Mueller keeps going higher, inside the Trump Family, widening and expanding the circle as it tightens on a fair number of people.

If anyone would like to bet that Mr. Mueller will agree to completely hamstring his investigation merely for the sheer joy of listening to Mr. Trump ramble and give contradictory answers in between saying "I don't remember.", "That's covered by Executive Privilege.", "The answer to that question involves matters of 'National Security' and, since you don't have the requisite security clearance I cannot answer it now. I will be more than happy to answer the question once you have obtained the requisite security clearance and can demonstrate your 'Need To Know'.", and "I've already answered that question.".

If Mr. Trump's lawyers were as smart as Mr. Trump says he is, they would be refusing any meeting, but would be agreeing that "The White House" would submit written (but unsigned) answers to all written questions that have been approved by them, in their capacity of individual American citizens and NOT in any capacity which implies that they are representing anyone who, for whatever reason, enters the White House (or its grounds) for submission to it.

One way or the other Trump will be interviewed.
But he and his lawyer will not set the conditions or the parameters.
And Mueller does have the clearances needed.
