Not at the cost of our liberties and freedom. Would you be in favor of doing this kind of investigation of every President, from Obama on up, so long as it dug up some crime from somebody that came under the microscope? I wouldn't.

At least those investigations came up with information that merited continuing the investigating. This one should be shut down, due to lack of information and no basis to even have a SC in the first place.

Yes, we do investigate politicians in this country and we protect their constitutional rights. I couldn't agree more with your statement, "This is not a police state where the almighty government is used as a weapon against the people and those that are a threat to it. People that support these kind of actions are a danger to our freedoms and liberties." That's why I fundamentally oppose Trump, who wants the right to sue newspapers that print negative reports about him and championed "lock her up" -- which means prosecuting political opponents.

You do know that political opponents don't have immunity and have to follow the law, don't you? Plus, her crimes came before she ran against Trump. I don't know why you even bring up the term "political opponent", it has nothing to do with her violations.

I have no idea what "police state tactics" you are talking about. Newsflash: Federal prosecutors investigate and prosecute federal crimes and politicians aren't exempt from prosecution. From the Constitution: The Fifth Dimension Amendment: "No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury..." The idea that Trump is being treated oh so unfair is ludicrous.

Good for you. With thinking like that, the Constitution would be torn up (as you ridicule it in your post) and we could have Police like to old East German Stasi finding crimes on anyone the State needed to find a crime on.

Let me remind you that Mr. Trump hasn't been charged with anything. If we lived in the police state that you imagine, he would have been arrested already. Meanwhile, we are discussing Trump, the guy that said that he would lock up his presidential opponent for unspecified crimes and just the other day said, 'Take the guns first, go through due process second.' One just can't make this stuff up.

Ah, someone that was able to think before replying! I can appreciate that.
Now, off course Trump would not have been arrested already. Did he say, seriously, that he was going to lock up Hillary? I think you are having trouble separating actual promises and powers that are within the President's realm from jokes, jest, and the rhetoric that comes with every campaign.

I'm more concerned about what he does, than what he says. As I've said before, he was nowhere near my first choice, but far and away a better choice that Hillary.
Sure, I can appreciate a bit of humor with any post.

Regarding the bold, yes he did.

Isn't it fascinating that everytime Trump gets caught in a vile statement, the excuse is "it's a joke" or it's "just locker room talk?" Sorry, there just are too many of these "jokes" to be credible -- except by his loyal cultists.

In addition, "lock her up" was a continuous campaign theme that Trump himself used at a debate and his minions, like Michael Flynn used at speeches.

Again, you complain about Trump being persecuted by a police state when he would love to run a police state.
