Sheriff Israel defends 'Amazing Leadership'

Buying into what, the Sheriff's defense?

I have a hard buying into the idea that how Sheriff Israel's deputies performance was an exhibition of amazing leadership.

Perhaps the Deputies and Sheriff's hands were tied by policy, but that just moves where the poor leadership lies.

I can understand where an out gunned lone office may hesitate to enter the firing zone alone, but when there are 4 deputies, with the strength of numbers, I would have expected engagement and pursuit.

But I'll admit, that's just a civilian's perspective from the outside.

"I provided amazing leadership!"

Who said that - Trump? Or this sheriff?
You really should look into getting some help for your TDS. It can be healthy to allow someone like Trump to so completely control your every thought that you can't even help but bring him up in a thread that had nothing to do with him. Its sad and I want to see you get better

I'm glad Tapper really pushed that sheriff here. So much dropped by his office, the 911 calls, the deputies not going in, and denying the first responders access. Someone told that office, not the NRA, that this kids was a walking school shooting bomb and it was their responsibility to do something about that.

Interesting to note; The Broward County Sheriffs Dept vehicles have a big yellow stripe running down their length.

How.....appropriate.

Great job on Tapper's part! There are short clips in this link: https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/25/politics/broward-county-scott-israel-parkland-cnntv/index.html

And the full interview:

He is a real piece of work. He is disgusting trying to place blame anywhere but on his department. I would like to say don't be to quick to judge all of Broward County Sheriff's. They provide the policing in my city and do a fairly good job. Remember police are like everyone else, and have a tough job. This is in no way defending the pieces of garbage responsible for the failures on all levels involving law enforcement, or what I see as blatant cowardice in the line of duty. I am just saying it is not the fault of all Broward County sheriff's.

It's really disgusting that he knew the entire time that HIS DEPUTIES didn't even try to stop the shooter. During the CNN Townhall he was blaming the NRA for the shooting.

And claiming his "amazing leadership." He's copying Trump's MO.
