The cbssports link shows his tweet. nbc news shows the aftermath. Decided to put them both up.
There is some truth in what he is saying to a kid who is being tormented. When you are a bully victim and a coward your options are suicide and revenge. Those are two options people who are often bullied feel are very real options but they aren't the only two options. These kids need support to find healthy ways to deal with the anger and fear they feel.
This man as a public figure should not advocating this type of thing. He should be using his voice to reach out to bullied kids to make them feel like there are more options than suicide and revenge. IMO a kid could read this and feel like he is advocating this behavior or could even plant the seed of thought in a kids head that these are their only options.
He damn sure shouldn't be putting this message out publicly with the name of a school on a gun. The name of a school in southern Florida of all places. The pure stupidity of this entire post is incredible.
I completely understand why he was picked up and sent into mental healthcare. I think this might have been a legit threat. A guy with a history of depression and suicide attempts who is still pissed about the unfortunate way he was treated in high school. A grudge that old coupled with depression and a man with no desire to live is a dangerous combination.

Martin was being questioned by investigators after a post on his Instagram account showed a shotgun and referred to the private Harvard-Westlake prep school in Los Angeles by name, the official said.
Jonathan Martin, who hasn't played in an NFL game since 2014, shared a picture of a gun on his verified Instagram page on Thursday night. The picture included the names of two of his former Dolphins teammates -- Mike Pouncey and Richie Incognito -- along with the names of two of his former high school classmates. Martin also specifcially named his former high school (Harvard-Westlake School) and the Dolphins in the disturbing photo.
The picture also included the caption, "When you're a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge."
