Clarence Thomas accuser calls for his impeachment - CBS News today

which is their right to do. Please see the constitution.

Do not lecture me about the Constitution.

You the one calling Bs when i said that you can't steal something that isn't yours. that is a fact. Obama didn't own the seat, garland didn't own the seat.
He was nominated which was out of context for a president to do in his last term and the senate decided not to consider him.

Hogwash. 14 Justices have been nominated during an election year.

I know because it gets in the way of your faux outrage.

that is why the papers were saying that it was out of norm.

the seat still wasn't stolen. no person has a right to a SCOTUS seat.

I'm not confused at all. So, you are saying that he did not make that statement in the link? That it was just made up or something? Well, go ahead and present your reasoning.

I guess you are not following either. Do you think he never made a statement before he was minority leader? Or it was a waste of time for him to say anything because it didn't count?

I believe the link, and that he may have said this, and as I pointed out, it would be as a single senator. He was not the minority leader at the time, and this never happened. Unlike McConnell who was actually the Majority Leader when he followed through on this ill thought plan when he had the chance.

Listen, I don't know much about the behind the scenes crap over there, but there is no way on Earth that Schumer made that statement without a full strategy session first. He was the number one or two (I always think of him as a no.2) ranking Democrat. He was speaking for the Democrats in the Senate, not as some rogue Senator spouting off.

In 2003-2005 Senator Schumer was the 70th ranking Senator. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_Senators_in_the_108th_Congress_by_seniority

In 2005-2007 Senator Schumer had moved up to 64th ranking Senator. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_Senators_in_the_109th_Congress_by_seniority

The idea that this was a result of a strategy session or that he was speaking for all Democrats in not really the case.

I don't think you know how the Senate leadership works. He was the number 3 Democrat in the Senate...

https://www.schumer.senate.gov/about-chuck

Following the elections of 2006, then-Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) appointed Chuck to serve as Vice Chair of the Democratic Conference, the number three position on the Democratic Leadership team.
So. you think that the number 3 ranking Democrat in the Senate decided to just go off and make policy on his own, without consulting the leadership? This wasn't naming a post office. This was a major announcement of the Democrat's position on Supreme Court nominees.

He would have been removed from his leadership position in a heart beat, if that were true.

You seem to have provided evidence that I was mistaken. I will certainly take a closer look at this.
