Your argument is that 'the Russians spread true information about Hillary, so what's the crime?' is quite false, based upon what we know. The Russians were spreading lies. One of them was the story that Clinton was behind a child-sex ring located in a Washington pizza parlor. It wasn't true but the idea was the Russians were throwing out so many false stories they couldn't be debunked before some people believed them. It was like playing Whack-Mole.
