Russians indicted in special counsel's probe for operations allegedly supporting Donald Trump...

We already knew this....60 minutes did a piece on this

RT financed the operations of these individuals

in 2014...when they started, they werent targeting anyone in particular

In 2016, they targeted Clinton....

this is all old news....the only thing new is the indictments against the actual people

Again...as i have said on other threads...where is the line in the sand between government intervention and censorship?

Are we going to shut down the RT cable news show? Have their twitter feeds, facebook pages all censored?

The russians have not tried to hide the fact they are trying to sow discord and chaos

the question becomes, what exactly do we do about it? it is something we go to war about?

If they tracked these guys down the investigation is much further along than most anticipated.

There has been some meddling but nothing like what we saw in 2016. It's on a whole different level and quite possibly changed the outcome of the election.

Burr said that when it comes to Russian spies, "this is not the first time they’ve been involved in our elections."

There’s no public evidence the post-Cold War Russian government has ever meddled at anywhere near the levels of 2016, when U.S. officials say the Kremlin tried to help Trump’s campaign.

However, during the Cold War there were a few Soviet attempts to hurt or help specific candidates. Yet 2016 was the first time in 40 years the United States is known to have seen this type of interference.

Since Burr’s claim has some truth to it but gives an impression that’s slightly misleading, we rate this claim Half True.

Agreed. You don't mount an international conspiracy to influence a U.S. Presidential election because you think Trump is a good guy or Hillary is a bad woman. Mueller only released a very small amount of information on this latest development. But it doesn't bode well for anyone who might have been involved on the U.S. side.

I've seen a lot of Trump supporters on social media who previously said the Russian investigation was a waste of money and witch hunt which should be terminated because there was no evidence that Russia did anything or that the Trump campaign was involved. Of course now it has been established that some Russians actually did what was alleged early on. And now the pro-Trump crowd is saying "oh we all knew the Russians did this, that was obvious, been going on forever, but see he didn't indict Trump or anyone in Trump's campaign so really this is a nothingburger because you can indict a ham sandwich, so let's wrap this up and move on, no need for more left wing distractions." Paraphrasing of course, but you can see the gyrations already manifesting here on DP.

Now that the crimes have been established and some of the conspirators indicted, let's see what else shakes out as this continues forward.

CNBC threw the Trump link in as pogy bait. The news conference said “Americans did not know they were dealing with foreign agents”

So here we are. The Never Trumpers have pro Trump demonstrators, and the pro Trumpers have BLM, Antifa! And others, not to mention colleges. They supported rallies both for and against Trump.

BTW Soros is doing the same thing, but he’s a dual citizen so it’s legal.

I think that remains to be seen unless of course you believe two words in a CNN article is concrete evidence... I would expect an official statement from the FBI clearing the Trump administration of any wrongdoing if that were the case.

Mueller has a very broad mandate of trying to uncover "any wrongdoing"- that can include interference, collusion, perjury, obstruction of justice, or anything else.

That's like saying if group A robbed a Wal-Mart in Virginia, that automatically means group B can't have robbed the Wal-Mart in Los Angeles - the commission of one crime by a group of criminals almost never obviates the commission of a separate crime (or crimes) by another individual or group of individuals.
