Unfortunately i have debated this topic to death, no ones opinions ever change and the bodies keep piling up.

RIP to the victims and thoughts go out to the families. No one should send their kids to school and they never come back.

I am glad they caught this guy alive so we can get some answers. Many of these active shooters kill themselves

Absolutely heart breaking. It seems that the only solution groups like the NRA will entertain is putting more guns in the schools. Literally. Armed security officers and armed teachers. They've made the case for both. There seems to be no real middle ground. Either you love America and the 2nd Amendment or you are an un-Patriotic liberal ***** who wants to take away our guns so the government can enslave us all.

That's where we are at in this country.

I agree.

However, while people insist on going on about how it's the NRA and the gun's fault, how about looking at what caused the person to go ballistic.
Maybe the person was mentally ill. Maybe he was bullied and snapped because of it.

But no. That's too hard. It's easier to blame guns and the NRA.

You are just making this up. before blaming anyone but the shooter, you ought to wait for more facts to come out. Just because the NRA helped elect a candidate you don't approve us, is not proper grounds to blame them-or any other group-for any shooting until you have at least probable cause

Seriously people, there arent more guns in the US all of a sudden but there are apparently, more angry white males.

Do people really think these angry white males are just going to sit at home with their video games and resentment and not find other ways to act out if we removed guns from society?

We need to deal with these losers...not the law-abiding and not our guns.

So how would you have those of us in other towns, states, and countries respond to this incident? Shrug and say, "Oh, well, it's just another Pleasant Valley Sunday" or "How sad" as we return to our daily tasks? Drive to Florida to protest in the streets? Send e-mails to all our elected reps? (Saying what? That we demand that they challenge the Second Amendment when we don't even know where the shooter got his gun?)

You and others seem to think that offering positive thoughts and prayers is a hollow waste of time. I don't. Even if there is nothing else I can do, I can express support for the grieving and regret the loss of life...and I can pray.

I started a thread on this shooting without knowing this one existed, in that thread I mention the same, that kids are drugged up (due to false diagnoses of ADD and other issues), being bullied is another possible factor.

From what I understand the school had Police Resource Officers- were they armed??

But you consistently miss the fact that it is the ease of access to firearms, that is the one constant in ALL such tragedies. Why is that?

That blows me away. I’ve seen videos of ppl getting shot for moving the wrong way yet this suspect in the middle of a massacre gets detained? Be curious to know how that went down
