as long as it makes Trump get a real good hard on & he feels just as glorified as his cousin Kim un, then let him have his ****ty parade; who ****ing cares?
Pretty much all the Branches and the actual troops, who will...
- have to suspend readiness training in order to practice,
- compile embarkation lists for weapons and equipment,
- compile personnel rosters for food and lodging,
- compile manifests for road and air travel,
- eventually leave their families in order to deploy from all over the country so that they can practice together in the same space,
- and then reverse it all to back home to their families after being at war...I mean parade...for an extended period of time.
Pretty much the local law enforcement and community, who will...
- have to provide dedicated around the clock external security for the movements and storages of all those weapons and equipment,
- provide a living space that would accommodate God knows how many tents to accommodate God knows how many troops,
- provide hot meals and beverages,
- provide trash & port-a-john services, which would bring its own international jokes,
- and have to provide a clean-up crew for when Woodstock ends.
And, of course, we have to remind ourselves that since the entire world would tune in just to compare our troops to other militaries from small countries, who are stationed close together, have few to no global responsibilities, and actually have plenty of time to practice for months to look pretty, this cannot be something rag-tag and hastily tossed together. And because the world would be expected to tune in, the military representation cannot be small. The bigger the parade, the more convoluted the logistics. There is a reason mass deployments involve big-ass open deserts to build upon.
Trump will, yet again, wind up presenting America as a joke to the world.
