Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation' [W:538]

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

Still great to see these 2 Assholes leave in disgrace....They won't be the last....Hopefully Kelly will be next to be booted out in shame

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

After witnessing eight years of highly irrational Republican defiance on even wanting to make school lunches healthier, this is rich.

It also implies that only the Left in America dislike Trump. Shall I introduce you to the world and the entire political spectrum that involves even GOPers?

But regardless, whataboutism does not address Trump. It's an exercise to avoid (even excuse) Trump.

Trump was elected because he beat 16 other "establishment Republicans" in the primary and beat the establishment dynasty candidate of Hillary Clinton. So, yes, of course many people hate Trump but, as I said, that is why he was elected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

That's nonsense. Where do you guys get this laughable crap? Go online and read actual leftists for a change, instead of listening to Hannity describe leftists for you. At the very least it will take you less than 5 minutes to notice the Bernie Bros versus Hillary/establishment Democrats divide.

I don't listen to Hannity. In fact, I think he is an extremist blowhard peddling fake news. Try again.

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

These types of accusations destroy whom ever they are leveled at, regardless of whether they are true or not....

No names then?

Regardless of whether they are true or not? What's your solution? Victims shouldn't be allowed to accuse their attackers?

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

"Likely", "Pretended", Then a false choice of either "lied", or "incompetent" Seems like you are making a lot of assumptions...

The FBI was doing a background check. The girlfriend would be part of that. There are multiple accounts she called the WH directly concerning allegations of abuse by Porter. Do you really think it's "likely" that Kelly, his direct boss and CoS was kept in the dark about that?

And if he was shocked about the allegations then what are the options. His right hand man didn't have a security clearance. Porter's job was vetting some highly classified documents crossing Trump's desk, and to sit in on highly classified conversations, travel with POTUS on AF1. Does a competent CoS not investigate why this WH staffer, his right hand, surrounded by some of our country's most guarded secrets is unable to pass a background check?

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

Of course we dont like that we lost the election...not because we dont like losing but because we are horrified by what won.

And daily he is sadly fulfilling our predictions.

Yes...go ahead and gloat...history will not be kind to the US for this era.

That's a little hyperbolic...If anything, the world reacts better when there is a strong leader in the US...

No names then?

Not sure how we can make this better...I do think that in general that before women, if they are going to have this absolute power to destroy on accusation, need to be responsible with the power....Not that in Porter's case it isn't justified, clearly with the picture that came out, it is...I don't have any respect for a man that hits a woman, but we all know in the larger picture there have been unscrupulous cases.

Your characterization of the left indicates you know nothing at all about the actual left. So if you didn't get it from Fox News or other right wing propagandists, you've invented a baseless and laughably absurd characterization of 'the left' all by yourself.

It's just as exactly absurd as someone like me trying to lump all "the right" into a single, homogenous group of people who all share the same beliefs about everything. That would be stupid as hell, so I don't do it.

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

I don't know what the answer is...Tell me, what is the answer for someone falsely accused?

He's not a strong leader, he's a vocal leader. Huge difference.

Again, see the example about cc. There is no absolute power by accusation.

Unless the entire population is that stupid to believe someone based on accusation alone and take action on it.

And we've seen no such evidence of that occuring yet either.

Examples?

(there is a big difference between legal accusations and the same on social media.)

No, but the Wall Street/Donor/"job creator" class is convinced that it is in their interests to offer up for voting/choosing only "strong" candidates who are willing to use the military to to maintain their ability to extract, redistribute and concentrate global wealth and resources.

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

Well, that would be the point of me calling the Tweet out as being only really about himself, to which you complained. So, I don't think you do "get it."

With no real defense from your types. Say's something, doesn't it? Hard to defend what you know is crap.

That poster never says anything worth a spit. He just stumbles around insulting people who disagree with or dislike the president. Worthless.

Meanwhile, we have a national crisis of conscience of epic proportions. Rather than talk about it, a lot (not all) of conservatives are either defending the president's black hole soul because that's what they've been brainwashed to do or are talking about the Clintons. Still. Again. If we can't unite, regardless of politics, against wife beaters, child molesters, and men who sexually assault and harass other people, then I just can't imagine that we could be more lost before we turn inward and think about solutions.

There isn't any evidence that "women" - half the population - are being irresponsible with this power they don't in fact have.

And before #metoo and after, there are millions of 'unscrupulous' cases of women making credible allegations and men and society in general dismissing them as liars, crazy, vindictive, gold diggers, or "morally bankrupt character assassins."

You guys pointing out potential downsides to the presumption of women telling the truth in these cases pretend that the alternative isn't also chock full of its own, massive downsides for women. Your approach is viewing the problem entirely from the perspective of we men, without regard to what the alternative means to half the country.

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

I don't know what the answer is...Tell me, what is the answer for someone falsely accused?

Your position is weighted toward protecting the men's reputations rather than giving the women the right to accuse their attackers. You know that, right?

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

All I am saying is that you couldn't care any less about the victims of the alleged abuse, but really only want to bitch and moan some more about Trump....It's old.

It wouldn't even be about the president if he would just shut his demented mouth and give Twitter a cool down. The issue is violence against women. Can't you just please admit that it's unacceptable? A wife beater should never have a role in the WH. This is something on which everyone can agree without controversy and without losing any face to "the other side".

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

These types of accusations destroy whom ever they are leveled at, regardless of whether they are true or not....

So what's your alternative? If it's he said/she said, there can be no actual corroboration. So is it just illegitimate for women to ever level accusations unless it's on video, or she has hospital records to back up the abuse claims?

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

How do you know that he wasn't talking about someone other than Porter? There is another White House staffer accused by a mere allegation and there are no pictures of her.

Why do you think he was talking about someone else? You guys will really try anything to get avoid the issue.

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

I don't know what the answer is...Tell me, what is the answer for someone falsely accused?

To fight the allegations.

What is the answer for a women who may be actually abused and their allegations dismissed by high profile Senators as the ramblings of "morally bankrupt character assassins."

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

I don't see why Kelly would directly have recall knowledge on this...A story from the NYTimes says:

"In November, the White House heard back from the F.B.I. Senior White House officials, including Mr. Kelly, Joe Hagin, the deputy chief of staff, and Mr. McGahn received word from the bureau that the allegations were credible and that Mr. Porter was not likely to pass his background check."

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/09/us/politics/trump-porter-abuse.html

It says nothing about Kelly knowing....

Background checks can take months....From the same article:

"But while Mr. McGahn privately informed Mr. Porter and encouraged him to consider moving on, according to one of the two people briefed, no action was taken to immediately terminate him. Rather, Mr. McGahn requested that the F.B.I. complete its investigation and come back to the White House with a final recommendation, a process that could take months."

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

We'll see. I was never surer that the president's public persona was irreparably destroyed than when he giggled about grabbing women's vaginas without their consent because "you can do anything when you're famous". Think about it. Every ****ing jaw in the US hit the ground, including those of the president's supporters and his campaign staff. That is the only time I have ever seen that man apologize for anything in my entire life. And then we elected him anyway.

Flash forward to all his racist rants. When he symapthized with Nazis. When he pardoned a birther who made a career out of harassing and victimizing Mexicans. When he endorsed a child molester for the US Senate. Then he publicly defended wife beaters. The man's depravity and stupidity have no limits, so I'm not even a little bit surprised that he did it. But will this be the first moment in his sorry life that people stand up to him (besides many, many judges)? The conservatives in this forum and on cable news give me no hope, but I am encouraged that people like Pence and Conway seem to finally be drawing a line that should have been drawn years ago.

I won't bother quoting other stories indicating that Kelly did know about the allegations because it doesn't really matter.

He is Chief of Staff, and Porter was his right hand man vetting highly classified documents and working daily with POTUS, traveling with POTUS. If he wasn't fully read in on why Porter could not get a security clearance, he is absolutely, objectively incompetent. It's literally his job to know that stuff, and especially about people working as closely with POTUS as Porter, and who was romantically involved with another highly placed staffer, Hope Hicks.

Bottom line is your best defense of Kelly is he was properly uninformed and therefore indifferent to the reason(s) why Porter was still operating under temporary clearance over a year into the administration, and that he was properly indifferent to the truth of a potential scandal that could embarrass the WH and the POTUS, on an issue that is in the news nearly daily - the #metoo stuff.

You're making my point beautifully, so thanks for that I think.

Re: Trump tweets on lives 'being shattered by ... a mere allegation'

Yep, and did you hear these women crying for "due process", or even equal rights, when women falsely accused men of child abuse during a divorce? How about when men go to jail for not paying child support while the woman denies the father the right to see his children, and nothing happens? Do you hear these women crying about "mothers" who kill their living children? Why not speak of the reality that most child abuse is perpetrated by the "mother"?

This whole issue, which needs to be addressed in its entirety, is about seeking power. It is nothing more then a political ploy by some feminists to attain a more "matriarchal" society.

That's your self introduction to this forum? You jump into a thread about wife beating and posit that everything is the fault of evil feminists? Nice move.

You simply do not understand, our white patriarchal society feels it is under attack.
