Arthur Jones — an outspoken Holocaust denier, activist anti-Semite and white supremacist — is poised to become the Republican nominee for an Illinois congressional seat representing parts of Chicago and nearby suburbs.
"Well first of all, I’m running for Congress not the chancellor of Germany. All right. To me the Holocaust is what I said it is: It’s an international extortion racket,” Jones told the Chicago Sun-Times.

Not only is Jones a holocaust denier, anti-Semite, and white supremacist, he is also the former leader of the American Nazi Party. How in the holy **** are Republicans in Illinois nominating him? This is beyond sick. The GOP needs to cut him out of the party like a cancer, and if this ****stick should actually miraculously win, I call on House Republicans to refuse to seat him.

I remember the Skokie decision. I also remember that it was the ACLU which championed their cause.

He ran unopposed. It's a Chicago area race anyway. If Martin Luther King jr were to run under the GOP banner against Satan himself, King would still lose as long as Satan had a (D) after his name. Stop pretending this is a big deal. Here's some other gems...

Most recently, in 2016, Jones ran unopposed on the Republican ballot but was removed for flagrant disregard of the election code. Jones said his candidacy was challenged by members of the Illinois Republican Party, who questioned the legitimacy of his signatures.

In 2017, Jones said he went door-to-door stumping for signatures, and after his paperwork was reviewed, Republicans did not attempt to remove him from the ballot.

The GOP is not like the Dems, if people play by the rules then they get a shot (not an endorsement). Not like what the Dems did to Bernie Sanders by flagrantly violating their own rules and cheating people out of their votes. If you don't want Jones to win then don't vote for him.

As did the march in Charlottesville. I see us in the 4th cycle of the 'birth of a nation'; 1860s, 1910s/1920s, 1960s, and now the 2010s, kind of a half-century itch ...

Although the Nazis assembled for the march, the actual march never took place, as angry Jews drowned them out with angry voices. And why not? They were wearing swastikas, and about 1 in every 6 citizens in Skokie were holocaust survivors.

We've got a gerrymandered map that would make the two dozen gop gerrymanders proud, like Texas, due to pick up 3 to 4 CDs in the next decade ...

You should see the ad up from a GOP flame-throwing primary challenger to our Gov. Rauner. All the stormfront dog-whistles. Jeanne Ives.
I've always voted in our gop primary, just to vote for these caustic loons. dana calls it rat-****ing.
I will vote for the sane Rep. Kinzinger against another flame-thrower primary challenger.
Better the devil you know in my hopeless gop CD-16 ...

And I thought the accused young women molester Jones was as low as they could sink, but now this? Are they not living in reality, how can you choose someone who calls the Holocaust, one of the worlds greatest mass murders "a extortion racket". That man is clearly a fascist moron to claim such a thing. A true and full on idiot.

How can people justify this to themselves? Voting for someone like that. How could the republicans not find one single acceptable or even unacceptable candidate to run against this fascist idiot? He is running unopposed in his primary for the republican party in that district.

Will the republicans go and fund his campaign? Will they campaign on his behalf? Are we going to hear Illinois republicans say that he is the best choice because "at least he is not a democrat"? Is that how far this partisan idiocy goes? I clearly hope not and I would hope that no republican party official sends money to this idiot or campaigns on his behalf and I would hope Trump is not going to do robocalls for him to get him elected (not that I think Trump would be so reckless as to do that but then again I also thought that that was the case with Jones in Alabama but hey ho, there were Trump robocalls for Jones).

All in all I hope he will get the crushing defeat (Arthur Jones that is) that he so rightly deserves and that 99% of his district will vote for his opposing candidate (but that too is an idle hope, still way too many republicans will possibly still vote for him).

Given that someone with such a dark background feels emboldened enough to run for congress, one must wonder what has changed in the american political arena.

This term never again needs to be put to bed because it keeps happening again. The Holocaust was not the last time genocide happened, it did again in Bosnia, Cambodia and in Africa- so the all people of the world needs to realize that actions have consequences.
